Went there for lunch, had the chowder and some other stuff (mussels, garlic bread, lobster salad), everything was very good. However, the chowder was so awesome, we came back for dinner and simply had chowder and the basket of garlic bread! \r We have had New England Clam Chowder all over the east coast and throughout New England Captain Parker's was the best!!!!

The worst restaurant experience I've ever had. Do not go here if you have any food allergies or dietary restrictions unless you wish to be treated like you have a contagious disease. Or if you want to eat very un-fresh fish. I was rudely told that none of their sauces or even salad dressing could be prepared gluten free. And when the meal I was finally able to order arrived, the fish both tasted & smelled really bad, and very old. When I said something about it to our waitress, another, older waitress overheard, and shouted at me that all of their fish was delivered daily by a fisherman, and then stomped away. We spoke to the manager, who said he's take it off the bill, and then the rude waitress came back over & rudely informed me that none of their desserts, which were supposed to come with the meal, would be ok for me to eat . Which was fine, because by then we just wanted to get out of there. Our server was actually very pleasant & tried to be helpful, but the older woman who seemed to be supervising or training her was extremely rude & unpleasant

Okay, well first things first. The service is very friendly and attentive. It is very clean and has a warm but fun atmosphere. The food is the main attraction though. About a mile away you can smell the steak and chicken here. The menu is possibly the biggest ever, and it usually takes me 10 minutes to decide, yet still not positive. The turkey tips are always grilled to perfection and juicy. The fries can come out a little cold sometimes, but not often. And I would recommend the coleslaw anyway. It is healthier and tastier, and is actually not drowned in mayo like most. The garden salad is o fresh you may actually think they have a garden, and it is very generous for only $3.29. The dressing options are so endless, I can never choose and have the waitress repeat it at least twice. (Which they say gladly.) The calypso shrimp is so good and the batter is coconut and crispy. The baked scrod is always flaky and fresh and the crumb topping is so good I can hardly describe it. The seafood chowder is very good and hot and the prices are all very reasonable.

The correct address for Longfellow's Pub in South Yarmouth is 182 Old Townhouse Road/ 1-A Old \r Townhouse Plaza~South Yarmouth, MA 02664. \r And for the record, the place has been under new management for quite some time, as well as had a very much needed facelift, so these VERY outdated reviews DO NOT reflect the current operation of this establishment. Furthermore, the people who work at the Pub are extremely dedicated individuals who take much pride in the food, which by the way is excellent & affordable. So please update your records and perhaps delete these old, outdated and unfavorable reviews.\r Thank you very much. \r

Our waitress was verry nice and friendly. The food was so fresh and wonderful. The air conditioning also felt great because of the hot weather. They also had a great buy one get one deal going on. I would go back many more times.

Went there a few weeks ago and was turned off. The bathroom was disgusting. There were all kinds of bugs and flies in the bathroom area. I would not eat or drink at this restaurant. I have been here quite a few times and never seen it like this. I would only go to see a band or a DJ because in the summer they do have a fun night life. But not ordering any drinks.

Our church ladies do this once or twice a year and you will now be my ""GO-TO"" place immediately. I was AMAZED that within just a few minutes of clicking on that contact hotel button that I got phone calls from REAL people that politely answered all my questions and were willing to accommodate our every need!!!! W O W !!!!! I'm impressed and will automatically go to your site again when our ladies plan a get-away. :~) THANKS SO MUCH

menu too upscale for the location. If it wants to remain a year round establishment they will have to go for more of a comfort food menu. I looked over the menu while there and had a hard time finding anything that really appealed to me. More appetizer selections, more just regular menu items.

I love the Improper and go quite frequently with my girlfirends. We buy the season pass because you dont have to pay the cover with the pass - totally worth it.\r The bands they have are great, the place is fun and I think anyone who doesnt think they should have to pay a cover should go to the neighborhood watering hole!\r You get what you pay for, if you want a better crowd of people and better entertainment you will pay a cover.\r Always a blast at the improper keep it up!
