The Flooring Connection
The Flooring Connection are AMAZING! I looked around for a good flooring company to level my floors and do about 2300 sq ft of engineered wood floors. The owner Greg not only gave me an extremely competitive bid, but he also REALLY knew his stuff. He has been doing this almost as long as I've been alive (and I have a kid that just graduated high-school - so do the math).. He exudes confidence and made me feel like I hired the right company. He dropped what he was doing and drove over an hour to meet me, gave me a bid on the spot and scheduled the work for 12 hours later.. * Arrived on time.* Had all materials.* Professional Staff* Kept the area and job site clean.* Made quick progress.* Found some issues and fixed them without addtl cost. * Kept his word on all aspects of the job.* Completed on schedule.* Finished under budgetIt really does not get much better than this! If you are considering hiring someone else, stop what your doing and call Greg, you will be happy you did. I'll be referring all my friends, family and clients to him from this point forward.

Design Floor & Home
TOP HOME IMPROVEMENT COMPANY! 5 stars! My wife and I used Design Floor & Home recently to install real hardwood flooring in our entire home. From the start we knew we were in the right place! They made us feel like family. Zack, and his staff are knowledgeable, professional, and superior craftsmen. We shopped around with Capital Carpet & Tile, Price Flooring and yes, Floor & Decor. The real difference for us personally came down to value. Design Floor & Home gave us a high end customer experience. The floor came out better than we expected. The carpenters respected every inch of our home, were pleasant and gentle with the kids. If you are looking for new floors, kitchen, bath, remodeling, or a High End General Contractor - LOOK NO FURTHER!

Just great people and wonderful service. They went out of their way to accomodate us with pricing and a very quick installation. We only gave them a week's notice before asking them to do the floors and they were right on time. Their installers are nice and friendly. We love the finished product. We highly recommend Design Floor & Home.

Tips & Advices
In most states, contractors are required to have a license before taking a job. Some states also require registration. To be licensed, contractors must pass an exam and meet certain qualifications that prove he or she is a competent flooring contractor. Registration is simply a list of who will be performing a job.
The time it takes to install flooring depends on the type of flooring and the size of the room or rooms involved in the project. In one day, a typical contractor can usually install up to 2,000 square feet of carpet, 600 square feet of hardwood or laminate, or 400 square feet of tile or stone.
  • Do you have a professional license, insurance, and a business liability policy?
  • Who will work on the project?
  • Do you subcontract, and do you screen workers and have insurance policies to cover them?
  • Do you have references or examples of your work I can see?
  • Do you charge for an in-home estimate?
  • What type of flooring is best for my home in terms of architectural consistency, environmental influences (such as whether a certain type of flooring will be affected by humidity in my area), and durability?
Legally, insurance is not necessary, but it's a good idea for flooring contractors to have it. When hiring a flooring contractor, ask whether the business is insured. If it's not, consider that a red flag.
A flooring contractor should know the pros and cons of each flooring option. These might include pricing, time of installation, durability, and average lifespan of the material.
