Ashurst Air Inc
My central A/C unit died during the outage from hurricane Irma. My friends recommended Ashurst Air Conditioning Company. I called Tim Ashurst on Thurs 9/14 late afternoon. He came out first thing Friday morning to have a look and by 6 PM the same day, I had a new 5 ton unit installed and running. Tim, you are the best!! You have a new customer for life! THANK YOU SO MUCH!

We had our aircondition replaced in May , its now the end of July. The old aircondition cooled the house perfectly, however it was installed in the closet by previous owners (over 12 yrs ago) and it constantly leaked. Ty installed the new aircondition. The new unit was relocated to the garage. The day the unit was installed, we realized that half the house, the living room, dinning room and kitchen received aircondition. We brought this to Ty's attention. Five days went by without him doing anything. It was so hot that we had to get window unit from Target. He turned up a week after installation, to address the problem. We got aircondition in the living room, dinning room and a little in my bedroom, but not the other 2 bedrooms, and bathrooms. We are drenched in sweat in these rooms. Ty was aware of this and told us that he would return. We called his number and he avoids us. It's now the end of July and nothing. We've called the office to speak with a manager, however it goes to voicemail. He doesn't clean up after he works and so we're left to clean up the mess from the insulation.

What a great crew! I had a great experience with them and will definitely use them again. One particular tech stood out in his professionalism and manner and I will never forget his name because it is such a cool name... Xavier. Such a talented young man. So glad to see the kind of people Hopkins Air Conditioning has working for them are top notch!

My AC broke over the weekend, and I was expecting a house full for the holiday! I was calling around looking for someone to come out right away. I left a message for Hopkins and the man called me back right away and gave me a window when he'd be here. He called me back to let me know when he was 30 minutes away. When the service man arrived, he was very friendly and presentable. He got to work right away and came out to tell me the problem and cost to fix it. I had questions, and he was very thorough (and patient). I thought the price was reasonable especially for a weekend problem and it was a holiday weekend. I was so impressed that I signed up to be a full time customer with Hopkins. It comes with regular check ups. Very satisfied and highly recommend Hopkins Air Conditioning.

Hopkins Air Conditioning
Great customer service, scheduled me promptly and will definitely be using them again! Family-owned, really care about their customers. Not like these big companies that don't care and just charge you a lot of money for poor quality work.

Well if you want to get misdiagnosed and then pay out 800 plus then not have the warranty honored this is your guy. Each time he came out there was another issue he did not check prior to making the diagnosis. Part by part he expects me to repair or replace when he should have advised me not to spend another dime on it cuz it was 20 years old. He took invoices and marked them up after I had signed so they aren't reliable if your going to alter them to suite your needs. I was assured that the compressor (prepaid) was under. 90 day warranty no other conditions were stated. I want the money back $325 plus 282$. Also this company has very suspicious banking practices they are very very sneaky. And why no address?????

Summit Air Conditioning Inc
Based on the price that was were charged I would caution against using this company. The technician came at 11 am diagnosed the problem, removed the damaged part, picked up and installed a new part by 1:15 Two hours and 15 min in total time. The initial charge was $575. I called when the tech was out picking up the part expressed concern and asked for an explanation for the high cost I was told there rate was $135 per hour and that travel time was going to be charged. Knowing it took five minutes to remove the damaged part I did not believe the replacement would take a great amount of time to install and requested an adjustment to the charge. Bob lowered the cost to $450 when I requested a reduction to $400 based on their rate of $135 per hour for 2 hours plus a $79 service call fee he state that the tech could just come back and reinstall the damaged part and we could find someone else. I should have taken him up on that the price and his attitude were very bad.

Tips & Advices
You can keep your air conditioner running efficiently with some preventative care measures. Shut off the power to your AC before cleaning it or performing any of these tasks:  clean your filter at least twice a year; remove leaves and twigs from cages; clean the fins with a garden hose or special spray, then use a butter knife to straighten any that are crooked; keep your yard clean so the fins won't get blocked; cover the unit up for winter; and make sure it's level or you run the risk of damaging the inner workings of the unit.
To clean your air conditioner drain, first shut off the power to your unit at both the thermostat and the breaker. Then remove the drain pan. If the pan is full of water, soak up the liquid with a few towels or rags or use a wet vacuum. You can use a solution of water and distilled vinegar, or substitute peroxide for the vinegar, to clean out the drain pipe. Let the pipe sit for a while in the solution and then put all the parts back in place. Once you start using your air conditioner on a regular basis, check it periodically to ensure condensation isn't building up.
If you happen to live in a hot and humid area of the country, drainage problems can occur with your unit since moisture can trap itself inside the system. Routine maintenance can cut down on drainage issues by cleaning out any mold or algae from blocking the drain. If you notice moldy smells whenever you turn the thermostat down, check on your system.
If you notice your system is acting inconsistently, the sensor is most likely out of place. Turn off the unit and reach behind its control panel while carefully bending the sensor back into place near the evaporative coil.
Find out where the noises are coming from. A banging or clanking sound could be due to a loose part. If you hear a hissing sound, it's most likely because of a refrigerant leak and you should contact an HVAC technician as soon as possible.
