Worst walk in clinic I have ever gone to. I don't recommend this place at all. All the (elderly) doctor did was stare at my breasts the entire time and he agreed that I had a sinus infection but would not prescribe me anything. Told me to take what I was already taking. Total waste of money and time.

Treated me terribly. Worked out a payment plan over the phone, came in, after checking in was told that my payment plan was not valid. They treated me like I was a common criminal. Very disrespectful and rude. Never go here

Vitae Family Care Clinic
I have been a patient here many times. The support staff is very friendly, they have an excellent and kind nurse. I love the Catholic atmosphere. Close parking.....those are all pluses. There are downfalls that we have had over and over again that is why I gave 3 stars. I have really wanted to like this practice. There have been multiple mistakes with recording information incorrectly. Test results are not communicated, prescriptions not sent, procedures not done on time for situation etc. This has happened multiple times and I believe it is the woman at the front desk who is not able to multi-task or stay on top of her work, she happens to be the doctor's wife. The doctor is good but does not have the best bedside manner, many doctors do not. For instance he referred to a part of my body with a word that is offensive, it was not technical or medical. I was not too offended but he was showing a student how to do something. I was slightly embarrassed. He is from a small town where he handled the entire family and all their issues. In our area, we send people to specialists so they can be properly diagnosed and treated. He does not seem to want to send people to specialists. With my situation and a friend's he should have sent us to specialists and we were not properly treated healthwise. He gave me a procedure that he rushed through. Later I was found to have a very serious condition by a specialist that should have been picked up by that procedure. It should have been taken care of and because I was not aware/we were not aware the condition worsened. I could have easily sued. Another condition was not sent to a specialist either. I decided to see one on my own. In the previous review stated, the patient stated that the clinic teaches natural healthcare, that is not true. It teaches Natural Family planning using the Creighton Method. That is chemical free birth control but he prescribes all sorts of meds and is not all natural at all. I appreciate that the clinic is free standing, pro-life but they need to work on communication, staying on top of records and sending people to specialists.

I saw Dr. Hodne. I was there for blood in my se.men. Dr hodne saw me for 3 minutes said my urine looked good and that it wasn't anything to worry about. she said she would set me up an appointment with a urologist. they never contacted me again. my parents paid 173 dollars for them to see me because I don't have insurance. I called them back after a week of waiting for them to schedule a urology appointment and told them to cancel any of the appointments they made for me. I saw a urologist he said it was absolutely nothing to worry about and that it can be treated with anti inflammatory medicines (ibuprofen). 3 months later I get a bill from Avadyne saying I owe 198 dollars for lab work that was sent over by Dr hodne. Lab work I never authorized. If it were a simple UA it would've been 20 bucks. But dr hodne decided to send my UA (the one that looked fine to her) into the lab to check for STD's. I never thought for one moment that I had an STD. Hodne only cares about money. not patients

Vitae Family Care Clinic
I have only been to the clinic once but everyone was so friendly! I am happy that we have a clinic here in Iowa that teaches Natural Health Care instead of prescribing so many drugs that come to find out is not healthy for you. I can't wait to actually start finding out more about the other services that are provided at Vitae!

I have been to this clinic twice and have seen two different doctors, and have had a phone conversation with a third - resulting in three wrong / missed diagnoses. Another doctor from a different provider found the actual problem and due to the severity of my situation, sent me immediately to the emergency room. Doctors Now does not do testing, they just throw antibiotics at the problem. Each visit / conversation with a Doctors Now doctor was less than 5 minutes.
Tips & Advices
A child should see his or her pediatrician frequently during the first few years. Once the child reaches age 3, parents should schedule a doctor's visit at least once per year. Before that, however, the American Academy of Pediatrics suggests parents arrange visits according to the following schedule:
  • 2 to 5 days old
  • 1 month old
  • 4 months old
  • 6 months old
  • 9 months old
  • 12 months old
  • 15 months old
  • 24 months old (2 years)
  • 30 months old (2.5 years)
No, parents should call 911, an emergency physician, or a pediatric emergency physician if a child suffers an acute illness or injuries. Doctors in these fields are more qualified than pediatricians to handle emergency situations.
A well-visit is a routine visit with a pediatrician to track a child's development, discuss medical or emotional concerns, and receive immunizations and medical advice.
Yes, pediatricians provide immunizations for infants and children up through 21 years.
No, pediatricians do not have to be board certified. They're only required to have a state license. However, certification indicates a dedication to studying pediatrics beyond the requirements.
