Golden Rule Plumbing & Contracting, LLC
our first contact with Golden Rule was a good one. however, the second time that we used their services was just the opposite. for a plumbing problem, they sent a "third-party" contractor who was, by trade, an electrician. this contractor was, several times, on the phone with the office to ask what he should do. when he finished the work, he called the office ....... and told us that the total bill was $750. i asked for an invoice.... all that he could was to write down some of the parts that were used. we asked him that the office send us a "final" receipt, with all items listed --- parts and labor. this invoice was never sent to us. our check was made out on May 09......... the next week, i called and spoke with Bob at the main office. i requested that an invoice be sent to us..... he said that they would........ but we still not have received one. this will be the 2nd and LAST time that we will use Golden Rule Plumbing. Couldn't recommend Golden Rule more highly. Tim is trustworthy and professional. All repairs are explained in detail, in a way that's easy to understand. Used them multiple times over the years and I'm always glad I did.

Golden Rule rocks! Very responsive, professional and reasonable rates. Fixed a steam generator and installed a valve for an ice maker. Will go to them again anytime I need service.
Tips & Advices
Usually, a leaky or dripping faucet is an easy fix that can be done by anyone who is even slightly handy with tools.. To fix it, first shut off the water under the sink then remove any decorative parts of the faucet and replace the washer and O-ring before reassembling everything.
To keep yourself safe from fraud or a possible scam, always remember to ask plumbers for their license along with a written warranty for their labor. Besides this, further safeguard yourself by checking their references and ensure they or their company is insured and bonded to do their work.
If you're having hot water issues, you can examine the thermostat and adjust it accordingly. If you hear odd sounds coming from your water heater, it could be due to sediment building up. To get rid of this, make sure you clean out the heater every few months. However, if you hear a boiling noise, it could mean the heater is overheating and you should call a plumbing professional as soon as possible.
Frozen pipes are hazardous and can cause massive amounts of damage to your home. To prevent your pipes from freezing during the winter, run your faucets at a trickle and keep your house's heater at 55 degrees Fahrenheit or above to keep the water flowing.
  • Be mindful of how much water you use in your bathroom, kitchen and even outdoors when watering your lawn.
  • Make sure your toilet handle works properly and doesn't stick.
  • Replace old shower heads with more efficient low-flow options that can cut down on the gallons of water you use each morning.
  • Turning off the water while you brush your teeth
  • Only running your dishwasher or clothes washer when you have a full load.
