You may drive by and see a line - and I know in the summertime its hot, people are impatient... but there is a reason there is a line and that is because the food is amazing, and honestly worth the wait. Bring a book - consider it an extension of your vacation - or try it on an off hour. Breakfast anytime is their slogan, but you must try their infamous Seafood Chowder. Their corn bread is delicious!! I also love their Lobster Casserole - its easy and all the work is done for you, and absolutely amazing. And try to save room for a slice of pie.

We recently spent a couple of days in wells .We were looking through the menus at the motel and asked about Mike's clam shack and it came highly recommended. We tried it , from the great greeting we received at the door to great service we got from our bubbly waitresses(we went back the second night) to the great baked haddock and shack potatoes the whole dining experience was very enjoyable (great gin and tonic too ) Thank you for a great dining experience.

My family and I went to Fisherman's Catch I believe the same night as the previous commenter (July 5, 2008). The wait was extremely long and frustrating at times. But let me tell you the wait was worth it! The food was delicious and very affordable and the portions were so generous for the price! The service could not have been better either. Anyone could tell the waitresses were working extremely hard, quickly, and efficiently to please their customers and still managed to do it with a smile on their faces even though you could tell they were tired and stressed! I was very impressed. My family will positively come back to this restaurant if we ever visit Wells Maine again for the great food, kid friendly atmosphere, and efficient service.

Met with a smile at the door. The Waiter went out of his way to make sure we were happy. The Prime Rib was perfect, and at a good price. A better bargin than the "Steak House" down the road, and just as good. Would highly recommend!

This place has it all. The staff is very friendly and welcoming, the food is absolutely delicious and the prices are very reasonable. Even in tough economic times they have so many great deals. I love the salad bar and their homemade soups, and I definately recommend trying their signature cocktails. They even have a menu of non alcoholic drinks like I've never seen. Go for the Lavender Cooler, it's unlike anything you've ever had. The restaurant is very clean and they have an open kitchen so you can actually see what's really going on back there. And the bathrooms are very clean, that's always been important to me.

16.Nunan's Lobster Hut
9 Mills Rd
Nunan's is exactly what the name implies - a simple ""hut"" with picnic tables, copious amounts of paper napkins, and the best lobster I have ever tasted. No reservations taken - you give your name when you arrive, and they call you outside as soon as your table is ready. Simple - ""clam bake"" dishes: chowder, steamers, lobster, burgers and dogs, steak, a few other selections, and the best home-made pies (apple and blueberry), and ""brownie deluxe"". Adequate wine list as well. Great food, great service, and they even provide a sink in the middle of the hut for those os us elbow deep in lobster, steamer juices, and melted butter. No need to dress up - it's all about the food, and the offerings are first rate. Reasonable priced by today's standards, great for the kids, and delectable!

Lobster is my all-time favorite food, and I order it every chance I get. Over the years, I have noted the inconsistency in the ability of every other restaurant to ""get it right"" in their cooking time for lobsters, ESPECIALLY 1 3/4 and 2 pounders. BUT Ogunquit's Lobster Shack on Perkins Cove has NEVER let me down. The lobsters, steamers and chowder ALL just melt in your mouth. I HIGHLY recommend giving it a try...You'll be back.

I haven't been to any Red Lobster in over 5 years. We decided to go here because of it proximity to the movie theater. We were pleasantly surprised by the swift service and the great selections. Soup and the shrimp lettuce wraps were great starters. The main entrees arrived super fast and the taste was spot right on. I highly recommend this place when on a budget and don't have a whole lot of time.
23.On The Marsh
46 Western Ave
We recently celebrated our anniversary at On the Marsh Restaurant. What an amazing experience! The food was wonderful, I had a dish called the Deconstructed Beef Wellington, it was the most tender, amazing filet I have ever had! My Wife had their Seared Sea Scallops and Truffle Lobster Risotto. She loved this dish, and I did to since I got to finish it. When we first sat down they sent us a glass of Champagne to congratulate us on our anniversary, very nice touch! We have been coming to the Kennebunks for years and this place blows the rest of the restaurants out of the water. We can't wait to return the next time we are in the area!

Our florist, Brenda of Brenda's Bloomers recomended that we check this place out, she thought we would enjoy it.\r \r It's almost a hole in the wall type place except that it's actually part of a house. I think it was a Mexican place several years ago, and they had painted it sort of an orange, it has changed a little over the years with the wear.\r \r Inside it's a handful of tables that are very quaint, some for two and some for four. There were candles at each table and soft music playing in the background. It was a very nice scene for dinner.\r \r The restaurant does not serve any liquor, not even wine but the great thing is that you can bring your own. People bring just about anything too, we brought a cooler full of a mix of pink lemonade and vodka, some bring wine, some bring nothing. They will open the wine for you if you need.\r \r If I remember correctly Brenda had told us that everything they use for the meals on the menu is all natural and very fresh. We had both chosen something different to try. This is not your plain old steak and beans type place either. The meal were great, and we enjoyed it all very much.\r \r We are going back this weekend while we are up in Oguinquit for the weekend and are looking forward to it very much. You can call ahead and make reservations, and I would suggest it as it can get very busy.

I've been going to Barnacle Billy's for thirty years, only because it's a family tradition. I'm guilted into it. It's overpriced and woefully short of restrooms, has a limited menu including the usual lobster and steamers, but it also has overcooked chicken and corn-on-the-cob and a terrible salad. We go for the pleasure of sitting outside on the deck, but don't wear shorts unless you want to roam around the cove for an hour or so with checkered thighs from the uncomfortable open-weave metal chairs. If you want a really good lobster roll at a reasonable price, stop at Bob's Clam Hut in Kittery on the way up to Ogunquit. the ambiance is missing but the food is 500% better, and 50% less expensive.
