The Machine Shed
I started up, and run a birthday group which 9 of us belong to, and each and every month for that particular person's birthday we go someplace different to eat. BOY AM I GLAD WE WENT TO THE MACHINE SHED!!!! Not only was the food DELICIOUS, but the staff was very friendly, outgoing, and we were made to feel right at home once we sat down. If you leave The Machine Shed hungry, you obviously didn't try very hard because not only did we order great tasting appetizers, but the side dishes that come along with the meals are by far the best we have ever had!! We brought in our own birthday desserts, and UNLIKE Thunder Bay Grille down the street, The Machine Shed DIDN'T charge us $25.00 per dessert! We'll be back for sure, you made nine people very happy, satisfied customers for life!

Tuffy Auto Service Centers
Had my brakes serviced 14,000 miles ago at Tuffy. Had a squeeling noise and took it there for inspection. They found front brakes "falling a part"! My old receipt had them charging me $154.99 for front brakes and $120.00 for rear brakes, for a total of $274.99 plus tax. They said there is a lifetime warranty on their brakes. When I showed them my old receipt, they said they mever did the front brakes! That being said I told them to forget it. They wanted $287.13 to repair my front brakes this time. QUOTE THE RAVEN, "NEVER MORE"!

Foxside Auto Repair
Owner and his wife very fair and honest good people. He's the only mechanic I have ever trusted. He always fits me in and tells me what parts cost which brand is garbage which is good. All around good guy and mechanic prices most reasonable in town.

Texas Roadhouse
I came into this restauraunt and there was an older short Mexican lady no offense. She was on the window when you first walk in. I asked her if my son could have bread, she rolled her eyes and said "fine". I saw her shake her boobs at a customer she thought was attractive as well. Then there was the bartender named Alli. Older lady, she wa sjust crabby and talking to the other bartenders about her love life and sex. Food was great but it's like a disgusting gossip scene.

Amport Auto Service
The guys at AMPORT AUTO do not stand behind their products and services. They performed a muffler replacement on my Dodge two, I repeat two years ago, March of 2014. This muffler now has completely rusted through, total junk. AMPORT told me SORRY, there is nothing we can do for you, the muffler only has a one year warranty. But for the same price we'd put another one on for you... YEAH- No Thanks. Very Disappointed, Jim L

Peoples Park
Sunset or nighttime dining on the roof is an amazing experience but you can enjoy sitting anywhere in this art filled restaurant/bar. It’s a great place to go after work, on a date, or even a girl’s night out. The food is as unique and enjoyable as the environment.

Fun, Friendly, professional atmosphere in a very clean, modern full service salon. They even take walk ins. Just started going to Barb in the last year and I love the cut color and highlights she gave me. I won't be going anywhere else!!!

CJ Automotive Inc
As a former mechanic, it was always tough to find a place I trusted with my car. CJ's is the only place I have found that will tell me exactly what needs to be fixed, what should probably be fixed, and what doesn't need to be fixed. They are experienced and know which parts to only get from the manufacturer and which parts have better quality or warranties from 3rd party vendors. They know what they are doing and are not just trying to get the sale, but actually trying to make a lifelong customer. They have made me one of the lifetime customers!
Tips & Advices
Among the common scams pulled are needless repairs, where a garage charges you for work that isn't necessary. Another popular one is attracting customers through a cheap oil change or tire pressure check. Then, when you your car is being repaired, they give you a long list of other corrections they'd like to make, therefore boosting the total cost of your bill. The best way to combat these types of problems is getting a written estimate before work is done so you can see how much repairs are expected to cost. If the final bill is higher than the estimate projected, ask to specifically see the work. Make sure information is put in writing as well. If a problem remains, you can have proof that work was not done to your satisfaction.
For winter driving, features such as the defroster, heater and exhaust system are paramount. Look in your owner's manual for specific directions on how features should be checked and repaired. Many newer cars have a cabin air filter that can be replaced when needed, allowing warm air to continue to flow in. Also, check tires before winter driving, as they need to be at the proper pressure to perform well on snow and ice.
In the spring and summer, you want to be sure your air conditioner and cooling systems work correctly. Given the high temperatures, overheating is a common problem. Look over the system by ensuring there is enough coolant available. If it needs to be refilled, it is best to open the hood and add more to the car before it gets too warm out. Also, clean out fan ducts and other ventilation sources necessary for summertime driving.
Some fixes to your car can be done without paying a specialist. Issues like replacing oil and air filters are relatively simple, with instructions provided in the owner's manual on how to make these changes. The same goes for replacing broken windshield wipers or burnt-out headlights. Such issues should be repaired quickly to guarantee safety, but don't require a visit to a garage.
Yes. Not every type of auto repair work needs to be done by a certified mechanic. You can fix some of a vehicle's issues just by paying attention to how the automobile is running and having a basic understanding of auto repair. Look over the ways weather may impact your car and what preventative measures you can take to avoid having to take it into the shop.
