I had a diagnosis from another mechanic of a fuel pump that he beleived to be out. I spoke with Eddie and he did not want to accept that diagnosis but did give me a price range if that is what the problem turned out to be. However, he was going to make sure that his mechanic checked everything first. When my truck arrived, within two minutes they had got it started so it was not the fuel pump! That saved me $400-$600 right there. Nothing seemed to be wrong but they were determined to figure out what occured that sent me there in the first place. Turned out that the whole problem was a injector connector that ended up costing $100 total. If you are hesitant on who to go to because you cannot trust, this place is the best. They care about their customers and try to make sure you are taken care of. The mechanic on duty is amazing, in the three hours I was there, he worked on 4-5 cars I think quickly and correctly. He even stayed until he fixed kmy car before he even went to lunch, it was an hour after he usually goes to lunch that he finished. That is why today, they are both eating lunch on me! You have a life long customer here!

Good honest service. This place was recommended to me by advance auto parts because I didn't have a great deal of money to get my car repairs done. While it is not much to look at, it doesn't really have to be if the work is of good quality. Additionally, this place had the opportunity to charge me a bunch of money for work that I did not need. Rather than capitalize on the opportunity, the owner pulled me aside and told me only of the repairs that I absolutely had to have done. They really went out of their way to work with me. They helped me understand what was wrong with my car. And they helped me find solutions that would keep me on the road. I've never written a review of a business before but these people were so good to work with that I couldn't help but give them a little love. It's just really cool to find a place that still believes in treating people fairly.

I am a resident of Chicago who was here in Waukegan and my alternator went out. I did a search and found High Tech. I called and the manager gave me great directions, quoted me an Extremely reasonable price over the phone, and stuck to his word 100% when I arrived. I was there almost no time. The shift started a little after 8 and one of the first techs to arrive started on my vehicle. He not only installed my part without delay, but he was very detailed and specific about the procedure. I was happy my problem was fixed, but I also appreciated how they treated my vehicle, my time and the price of the labor. I would surely return.

First let me say hello, I am the manager Tim. I recall your car and the problems we ran into. I don't find this review fair in my eyes.I would ask you research the problems with the car and re-comment. the amount of problems in the car and the quality of the work prior did nothing but slow us down. I can assure you, I did every thing in my power to make it right. If I am wrong, please point it out. I took care of the problem the best i could and sorry i could not call every time i test another part on the car. In the end we fixed the issue and you your self knew there was a lot of other issues.

Tips & Advices
Among the common scams pulled are needless repairs, where a garage charges you for work that isn't necessary. Another popular one is attracting customers through a cheap oil change or tire pressure check. Then, when you your car is being repaired, they give you a long list of other corrections they'd like to make, therefore boosting the total cost of your bill. The best way to combat these types of problems is getting a written estimate before work is done so you can see how much repairs are expected to cost. If the final bill is higher than the estimate projected, ask to specifically see the work. Make sure information is put in writing as well. If a problem remains, you can have proof that work was not done to your satisfaction.
For winter driving, features such as the defroster, heater and exhaust system are paramount. Look in your owner's manual for specific directions on how features should be checked and repaired. Many newer cars have a cabin air filter that can be replaced when needed, allowing warm air to continue to flow in. Also, check tires before winter driving, as they need to be at the proper pressure to perform well on snow and ice.
In the spring and summer, you want to be sure your air conditioner and cooling systems work correctly. Given the high temperatures, overheating is a common problem. Look over the system by ensuring there is enough coolant available. If it needs to be refilled, it is best to open the hood and add more to the car before it gets too warm out. Also, clean out fan ducts and other ventilation sources necessary for summertime driving.
Some fixes to your car can be done without paying a specialist. Issues like replacing oil and air filters are relatively simple, with instructions provided in the owner's manual on how to make these changes. The same goes for replacing broken windshield wipers or burnt-out headlights. Such issues should be repaired quickly to guarantee safety, but don't require a visit to a garage.
Yes. Not every type of auto repair work needs to be done by a certified mechanic. You can fix some of a vehicle's issues just by paying attention to how the automobile is running and having a basic understanding of auto repair. Look over the ways weather may impact your car and what preventative measures you can take to avoid having to take it into the shop.
