Kool Smiles
I'd like to start off by saying that I very rarely write reviews unless I feel that passionate about my experience! Prior to coming to Kool Smiles, My son & I went to two different private practices. I hate to admit it, but I always associated Kool Smiles with Medicaid patients only. Let me tell you, I have never been so surprised I'm my life. Not only has Kool Smiles surpassed my expectations on every level, but also my three year old son too! We were brushing his teeth twice a day & going to regular 6 month cleanings since the age of 18 months. His father & I were shocked to find out that at a check up, he had two cavities. The cause was secondary to me giving him a sippy cup with milk in it every night to go to bed after his brushing. And because of this, it was defeating the whole purpose of his nighttime brushing and allowing sugar to sit on his teeth all night producing decay. I since took away the milk & all nighttime sippy cups. I was so nervous that he was going to have to receive two cavity fillings at only the age of two! Dr. Khan filled both of his cavities. She was able to keep my son happily entertained & distracted enough that he did not even think about the procedure. He received several novocaine injections and "Happy Gas". The procedure went great and everyone exceeded my expectations by far. My son left very happy, asking when we can come back. The entire staff here are wonderful starting with the warm welcome you receive from the receptionist, to the dental hygienist and the doctors. My son absolutely LOVES going to "Kool Smiles" & I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for high quality dental care with staff that are willing to go above and beyond to satisfy every patients needs!

Kool Smiles
I took my 10 and 3 year old for their 6 month cleaning and everything about the visit was great. The wait wasn't long, Eboney got us right on in the back once we signed in and did paperwork. The DA Chrissie took them back with conversation and giggles and compliments which they loved! Both hygienist Carrie and Antonia were great with my girls! Especially my three year old who decided to scream and kick the entire time. Antonia never lost patience and kept trying along with Carrie helping to calm her down. My ten year old needed minor work done which they were happy to do the same day to avoid me having to make a return trip. Andrea and Dr. Reimer were wonderful!! My ten year old loved them and how nice they were. She had no complications or discomfort at all! Love this place and will continue to take my kids there.

CT Family Dental has been a home away from home. They definitely have a family environment. The staff is always courteous and professional. They have systems in place to remind you of your appointment. The dental staff and dentists are exceptional. Before coming to CT Family Dental, going to the dentist was a feared experience but now it is one of the best experiences. I have been a patient of CT Family Dental for just under two years and will never go anywhere else. CT Family Dental are my dentist for life.

Kool Smiles
I bring my kids to kool smiles all the time and I have went to a different location for myself. I came to kool smiles for myself today for the 1st time and I had Adriana. After viewing the care for my kids and experiencing it for myself today I enjoy the communication and how friendly every one is. Adriana spoke to me every step of the way and explained a lot of details about how to care and what is going on with my teeth and gums.

Tips & Advices
  • If a tooth decays and the nerves or pulp (soft internal tissue which helps teeth develop) become inflamed or infected
  • If a tooth is cracked or broken and nerves are exposed
This generally depends on any specific issues you wish to address with your teeth. There are toothpastes designed to whiten teeth, fight cavities, decrease sensitivity, prevent bad breath, resist gingivitis, and those specific to children (with lower fluoride content). There are also toothpastes that offer “complete” protection by combining aspects of many of the above toothpastes.
It’s recommended to get a professional cleaning at least two times per year.
  • Desensitizing toothpaste numbs the nerves in the teeth that can cause discomfort.
  • Mouth guard can protect against grinding teeth during sleep.
  • Fluoride treatment can be applied by dentists to sensitive areas to numb teeth and strengthen enamel.
  • Root canal can treat problems in a tooth’s core.
  • Surgical gum graft where a piece of gum tissue is removed from a section of the mouth to cover an exposed root.
Not everyone needs to have their wisdom teeth removed, but there are certain signs that can help you and your doctor determine if yours should be:
  • Wisdom teeth are pushing other teeth around, causing pain and misalignment
  • Cysts form around newly emerged wisdom teeth, causing jaw damage
  • Gums get inflamed and swollen, causing cavities and pain
  • Doctor determine from x-rays that wisdom teeth will cause problems in the near future
