Moyer Law Office
I had Don Moyer for a divorce and in the beginning things were ok I live in WV and replied on Don to handle things for me I spoke to him a few times on the phone until I got the billings which I seen where I was charged for every min I asked a questions and I aske that filings be done to prevent my wife from selling anything which was never done and she sold about everything and Don told me 2500 unless we go to trial after a few months the calls started asking for more money I paid thousands over the 2500 quoted by moyer this is my opinion only Don had a lady working his office I called one day she told me (watch this law firm) I asked what are you talking about she said that's all, I can say. so it sent red flags up and then moyer said I need 5000 more to put in war chest I asked for a updated billing and at that time I was told through email that his office was dropping my case for lack of communication really at that point and from what his own office workers told me to watch them I asked for my file and to date have not gotten anything. this frm is no good for people needing help run don't walk from this firm. if you want to lose everything go to his firm. worse exeriense of my life and I paid thousands when I asked for refund I was told there is no money left. to be honest I don't think they had money to refund. again he coned me he would ask for money and 2 weeks later calls would start again saying if you don't send 5000 more we will not help you really I asked for billings and got email saying we are dropping your case so if you hire this firm don't ask where your money goes. I am filing complaints against this firm and civil action if possible. I found out what I requested was never done and which aloud my wife to sell about everything so please check out any lawyer your hiring and again this is my opinion and the things that happened to me his reviews score low on funds spend so that should tell you something good luck with your case there are many lawyers in RI that have better ratings and will serve you better and don't have worker in his office that tell you to watch out I talked to Don about what I was told he said she no longer worksfor this office I asked why he stated we are having issues. I asked how many other people she told that to he didn't reply. he send me a text stating well I recorded your calls I said without telling me he said yes its RI law I don't have to and this was my lawyer so please becareful and don't become a victim as I did with this firm
Tips & Advices
Each state has different mandates on how child support is determined. But there are some basic factors that underline how costs are determined in each state, including:
  • Income level of parent that needs to pay support (in the case of joint custody, the costs are determined by income of each party and the percentage of time the child spends with each parent)
  • Financial needs of child
  • Child’s standard of living before the divorce occurred
This is a divorce in which one party does not have to prove that the other’s actions lead to a deterioration of the marriage. The reason for divorce is listed as "irreconcilable differences" or an "irreparable breakdown of the marriage,” meaning the marriage was no longer working and could not be repaired.
Family law attorneys are helpful in cases where the two parties are not on amicable terms. The lawyers can act as intermediaries between the two parties and help them come to any settlement agreements, however long that may take. Lawyers can also help parties navigate tricky state laws regarding settlement agreements and child custody, thus expediting the process.
A contested divorce is one in which the parties cannot agree on either the necessity of the divorce as a whole, or how assets (money, property, etc.) and child custody should be split between them in the divorce. An uncontested divorce is when the parties are in agreement on how assets and child custody will be split between them. These divorces can sometimes be handled without hiring a lawyer.
It is possible for a couple to get a divorce without hiring a family law attorney. If the two parties are in agreement on how finances, child custody, properties, etc., will be split, then they can file the necessary court documents themselves and avoid the services of a lawyer.
