Yard House
Want to know where to go in VB to gather friends and enjoy a great evening over delicious food? Look no further. Yard House is the place to be! My husband’s work loves this place for happy hour. I love it for any gathering from family celebrations to friends having a night out. Clean, chic, and spacious, the large open seating surrounding a gorgeous bar makes for a great social evening. Yet this isn’t a bar dive-it’s upscale and casual. You’ll be able to enjoy delicious food and a variety of craft ales and lagers. The food is well-prepared, tastes extremely fresh, and provides decent sized portions. What is even better are the unique offerings of “Snacks” (for those who want to nibble, “just taste”, or eat smaller portions), “Street Tacos”, an entire menu selection of Gardein based dishes/entrees (for those who prefer alternatives to meat and fish), and gluten sensitive recommendations/alternatives. Some of the amazing eats we’ve had include the ahi poke bowl, New York steak sandwich with sweet potato fries, and grilled Korean beef short rib street tacos. But it doesn’t stop there. Dessert is a must! Don’t leave without tasting the homemade fresh baked brownie with ice cream (it is really decadent—the best brownie I’ve ever had!), or any of the “minis”! The mini lemon soufflé, chocolate soufflé, and peach cobbler is divine!

Lubo Wine Tasting Room
My husband and I stopped by here on a whim as we were in the area and wanted to enjoy some quiet time before attending a party. It had come highly recommended from a coworker so we decided to check it out. Lubo's is not a huge restaurant, but an intimate setting where you can enjoy some quiet conversation with friends. I wouldn't say this is a place to bring your kids (just because of the sophistication of the menu), but I noticed the menu did offer some family friendly evenings! The server was very helpful in recommending good red wines for us to have and they were spot on! To accompany our wine, we had the baked prosciutto and chevre appetizer which was delcious! The roasted garlic was sweet and savory. We also are glad the server recommended their dessert special for the day: Reese's cup bread pudding a la mode! That was one of the best desserts I had EVER tasted! They said the chef doesn't make it regularly, so we needed to try it...and I'm so glad we did! Little hidden surprises of good food makes this place worth stopping by.

Drain Masters Plumbing
I was promised a call between 8-12 to advise when the tech would be out and not only did the call come in a very timely manner but so did the tech. Taron was "on time" AND was able to resolve AND fix the problem that 2 other plumbing companies could not !! He was very polite and professional, explained what he was doing and had no problem answering what probably sounded like very basic questions which I asked him. I would highly recommend this company to any and all friends / co-workers as I am very pleased with my end result and the fact that after living in my new home for 2 months I can finally wash clothes !! Thank you Drain Masters and thank you Taron. Job very well done !

Nautilus Restaurant
Came here with my girlfriend five minutes early and stood outside the door, but the manager let us come in anyway. The breakfast buffet was extensive and I was surprised by the omelet and crepe stations where you could get them made to order. Everything was delicious and the server was very adamant about making sure that everything was going well. Would definitely recommend to anyone wanting a good breakfast!

Drain Masters Plumbing
I called them on the 4th of July & I have my receipt to prove it. The young man came when he said he would be there, he fixed the leak in my dishwasher & my washing machine. (In less than an hour!) He was very direct & to the point. I appreciate the service & will recommend to all of my friends & family!

Waffles & Company
This place was beyond good. It was great! From the friendly greeting to excellent service to amazingly delicious food. All reasonably priced and home made. Next time we are in Virginia Beach we WILL go there again. It's a hidden treasure not to be missed for breakfast, brunch or lunch.

Abbey Road Restaurant
I had dinner here with my tween/teen kids and we really enjoyed it. Great atmosphere, very friendly and attentive waitress, and really good food. We had the marinated steak, blackened Mahi-Mahi, pasta marinara, and a grilled chicken salad - all very good!

Mary's Restaurant
The service and atmosphere are absolutely wonderful. The food is local southern breakfast and lunch, and really hits the spot. Definitely the place to go when you want a good hearty breakfast or brunch that will last through the day.

Beach Bully
I completely agree that Beach Bully staff are VERY unprofessional bordering on rude however I disagree with the assesment of their food. Personally I return again and again for their food despite the bad service.

Aldo's Ristorante
Had a great dinner tonight which was our first time. I made a mistake and set reservations for tomorrow not tonight. They said no problem and fit us in on one of the busiest weeks in VB restaurant week!!
Tips & Advices
If there is ever a dispute regarding payment over the course of the project, a contractor or subcontractor could place a payment claim, or lien, on your property. To avoid this, ask the contractor to sign a lien release, which is a legal agreement that states that any payment accepted is final. This can come in handy if a contractor has his or her own payment issues with their subcontractors. Signing a lien release form certifies that any payment made by a client to the contractor is enough to pay for any goods or services rendered.
Absolutely ask. Paying too much up front offers the homeowner minimal leverage if the quality of work does not meet expectations or contractual specifications. Try to establish a reasonable pay schedule, such as paying 10 percent of the total cost for each 10 percent of the work that is completed. Include this payment plan in the contract, as well.
Before any money changes hands, there should be a contract to sign. Make sure the specifics of the work and all costs are listed in the contract, including details. If you forget to have something included in the contract after signing it, there's rarely a chance of recourse.
Ask the contractor for proof of their certification before signing anything, as well as their proof of insurance. You should also check your homeowners insurance policy to see if they offer coverage for contracted work. You may want to call your insurance provider and ask for more details on what your plan will and won't cover.
Yes. Plans for how the work site will be cleaned at the end of each day as well as at the conclusion of work need to be put in writing. An experienced general contractor should make every effort to keep the workspace clean and prevent dirtying or damaging any other area. Even so, talk with the contractor about the daily schedule, the logistics of transporting workers and equipment, and how cleanup will be handled.
