I moved to Columbus Station semi-recently. Yeah okay it's expensive, but I LOVE my apartment & I love the area. The office staff is all very nice & friendly & super helpful. HOWEVER, the maintenance staff is an absolute JOKE. For that reason alone I wouldn't recommend this place to a single soul. I was locked out of my apartment for 10.5 hours & maintenance NEVER ended up helping me, yet kept telling me they were "on the way". I eventually gave up and called a locksmith. The property manager was nice & understanding about the situation, however the maintenance supervisor all but flat out called me a liar, even tell me he'd like to "call me a few choice names". He kept trying to cast doubt on my story, even though I had printed out all of my phone records. Long story short instead of taking responsibility and saying "I suck for not helping you" he chewed me up & spit me out to the wolves & laughed in my face - even made me cry. Yes as embarrassing as that is, I did cry bc I was in such disbelief at how he was speaking to me after I was stranded overnight for 10.5 hours.... Sooo if you plan to move here ya better pray you don't have an issue where you have to call for maintenance's help!
Would not recommend. The apartments are old and the ones they are renovating are too expensive for what they are. They would take a long time to fix anything wrong with your apartment. They over charge on repairs as well. Our window broke and to just change out one pane they charged $200. When we moved out they told us we would only have to pay until the end of the month and then charged us until our end of lease date. The rent would rise every year even though the complex only got worse. Laundry facilities often very dirty and broken. Complained many times about people smoking marihuana in the laundry facilities but problem persisted for over a year. They finally started locking the laundry facilities but then wouldn't open them up until later In the morning then they were supposed to.
I was one of the original people that moved in the day it opened so I've seen it get worse instead of better since May 2014. The operations aspect of the property is what I have issues with. Since it's a new property and it sort of resembles a hotel inside I only feel that it should stay as clean as a hotel and that's not the case. They need a larger staff to pick up after people. The lady that cleans the place right now is wonderful and she does a great job however, she can't be in 15 different places at one time. If they could find more people exactly like her to keep up with everyday cleaning I probably would have given more stars.
We had several issues with Columbus Station. The maintenance crew would come and "band-aid" the issue but it was never fixed; one item being the toilet running and another the heat/ac unit not heating and cooling properly. The worst issue was when we moved out. We are very tidy renters and cleaned the unit spotless as well as the carpets. We finally received our security deposit back and carpet cleaning was deducted. No, this is not considered Normal Wear and Tear to Columbus Station. Not to mention the RUDE staff in resident services. If you want the location - just pay for the Cosmopolitan. AVOID!!!
The owner/landlord, Cody, is really awesome! He's very nice, anytime something needs done, he gets it done right away, very efficient. Also, he is very patient & understanding. If something happens, he will always work with you as long as you are honest & let him know what's going on right away. The apartments themselves are VERY clean, nice, new appliances, & plenty of space, including closet, pantry & storage.
I don't know what that last guy is talking about or what Colonial Arms Apartments he was in but I have lived here for 4 years and never had a problem. The neighborhood is great, management is awesome and I didn't even know they had security because I never needed it! This is a great place to live whether single or have a family. That other guy was apparently just mad at the world!
Linkhorn bay is a great community to live in! For the price and bein so close to the beach you really can not beat it. The office staffIs always friendly and helpful especially upper management. The grounds are well kept and i love the dog park! The jet noise is something that linkhorn can not control.. Overall i enjoy living here!!
My name is Carol. I am the new Resident Manager at Pine Shores Apartments. My office number is 757-464-3323. I started working here on June 8, 2015 and am here for the tenants. I love living here and have met many wonderful people. They care about me so that I feel safe always.
I am basing this rating 100 % off the property manager angela and the amazing maintenance staff. Will admit it may take a bit to have a work order done, Angela really goes out of her way for residents.
