Minor Emergency & Family Care
Great medical staff but watch your money up front! Check-in clerk took my payment and said she would give me a receipt when I was done "if you want one." (Who DOESN'T keep their medical receipts? It should be given as a matter of course!) I had paid the $30 copay with two of several $20 bills straight from the ATM, but when I asked for my $10 change from the girl who had taken my money, she insisted I had given her $30. I told her I had only had $20 bills, but she insisted I was wrong. No one else from the business came to mediate, leaving me in the lurch. So WATCH YOUR MONEY LIKE A HAWK, AND INSIST UPON A RECEIPT AND CHANGE BEFORE YOU GO BACK TO SEE THE DOCTOR!The nurse & doctor I saw were very helpful in diagnosing my problem and offering appropriate treatment, including follow-up. So sorry the front staffer kept the business from a 5-star rating.

Sentara Family Medicine Physicians
I am a patient of Dr. Katherine Law. Scheduling an appointment is easy. I usually make mine through My Chart but I have called before. They usually can get me in the same day if I am having a problem. She is very patient and kind. She always gives me the time I need and she always explains everything to me. At the end of every visit I get a visit summary. I deal with the same receptionist and nurse each time I have been there to visit so they are very personable because they get to know you. I would recommend her to everyone looking for a doctor that won't rush you out the door or talk down to you or lecture you about life choices.

Choe Center for Facial Plastic Surgery
Wow amazing! Dr. Choe and his staff are the "BEST" I had lower face and neck lift and I look great! I cannot say enough about how I was glad that I took the time to research doctors. It was a little bit of a drive for me but it was well worth it! The staff was very informative, friendly, and always kind. Dr. Choe really cares about his patients and it shows! The work he does is the BEST! This is the place to go Choe Center and reasonably priced! Thank you Dr. Choe and staff.

Thrive Proactive Health
I have been suffering for almost 2 years from back pain after an accident. Since I have been at Thrive Proactive Health I have learned why I have not yet recover. The education and services provided are top notch and extremely valuable since the team of professionals involve the patient into decision making and accountability. I needed that to see results and improvements were soon to be noted. I have been able to return to exercising and my pain has drastically decreased in just 6 weeks.

Tips & Advices
This depends on the facility. Patients should call to find out if they'll need a referral from their physician prior to making an appointment.
Aside from hyperbaric oxygen treatment, most wound care centers offer:
  • Debridement: The removal of dead skin and tissue surrounding the wound. This can be done surgically, using a whirlpool bath, syringes, enzymes that dissolve the tissue, or wet dressings that dry on the wound and absorb the dead tissue.
  • Dressing: Wrapping the wound in a protective film, gauze, gel, or foam.
  • Compression stockings: Tight-fitted fabric sheaths that encourage blood flow.
  • Artificial skin: A covering that is applied to the wound for several days as it heals.
  • Ultrasound: The use of sound waves to promote healing.
  • Growth factor therapy: The use of materials naturally produced by the body to encourage quick cell growth.
  • Negative pressure therapy: Creating a vacuum around a wound to encourage faster blood flow to the area.
Depending on where the treatment is administered, hyperbaric oxygen treatment  can cost $100- $1,000. After insurance is applied, patients may have a copay of $10 -$50 or a coinsurance fee of 10 percent to 50 percent.
Most wounds should heal within two to six weeks. An individual should seek chronic wound treatment if a wound has not begun to heal after two weeks or is not completely healed after six.
Most health insurance plans cover wound care. Patients should check with the clinic and their health insurance provider before seeking treatment to be sure.
