I am STUNNED this place is still in business. The "Screwy" owner still owes me money for the 3 days I worked for him. Psychological abuse on the job was common as he'd often have me fetch after a certain tool, which I was unable to find, only for him to have it hidden and said "it was right here all the time." Or "here, wipe off the shelves, see if you can do that right!" He did not have you fill out a W4 at hire time. And though it was $350 a week from Mo-Sat, there was a daily pay ceiling of up to 10 hours (meaning though we put in 12-14+ hour days, we were only paid for 10). He would often stop to customers homes on our way back home (we were cooped up in the company van during our UNPAID time) and each day I'd have to take a co-worker home who didn't have a car. So when you broke it all down, it only amounted to $3 an hour or so. If you ask me that is totally all Un-American!!!!!!
Tips & Advices
Homeowners should work with a fencing contractor who is certified by or a member of one or more trade organizations, including American Fence Association or the North American Fence Contractors Association.
If a contractor requires an immediate decision, asks you to pay cash or doesn't provide an estimate.
  • Ask for portfolio examples
  • What's their reputation?
  • Is the work guaranteed?
  • Is there a warranty?
With exposure to the sun and the elements, wood fences are prone to cracking, warping and cupping. homeowners are encouraged to clean, seal and stain their fence at least every three years. Clean the fence with a specially formulated cleaner. After 15 to 20 minutes, use a pressure washer to remove any mold, mildew and debris from the fence. Then seal and stain the fence to protect it. An oil stain is recommended, as it penetrates the material and can maintain its condition for years.
Homeowners may use soap and water to clean off these materials, but they generally don't require much more than that. These options can be good for those that want a sturdy but low-touch fence.
