Salvation Army Thrift Store
I very disappointed with this location. we go in on a friday to purchase a couch and love seat combo...i was stoked that i had saved money for our growing family. we paid for it and go to pick it up and the manager would only give us the love seat. no refund only store credit. the couch has no price tag on it still because they went together. so frustrating. and this is their manager.

Cedar Reef Fish Camp
Excellent food, great service, friendly people. Good value. Shrimp and grits are the best! Best place we have found! Definitely recommend this place.

Don't try to donate to Salvation Army in Venice, Fl...they don't return calls, pick up items as promised and the dispatcher is never at work...disappointed. Filed a complaint with Sandra Megna who oversees this area...with no satisfaction...I then used The Elephant Trunk on the Island...much better service and the items sold goes to a good cause. Wedding Anniversary DisasterMy wife and I were looking forward to going to fins and having a romantic dinner celebrating our twelfth weeding anniversary. Well no such luck. I had made a reservation by phone a few days earlier for 6:30 P.M. for a table by the window. Everything went fine, the women took all my information and told me everything was all set so I thought. We arrived @ the restaurant @ 6:30 last night, parked my car via the valet (very prompt) and was greeted by a friendly hostess located in entranceway to both restaurants. We informed her we had a 6:30 reservation for Fins. She looked up our name on a list and said the reservations was listed for 6:00. I informed her our reservation was for 6:30 not 6:00, she said they would be able to accommodate us upstairs and wished us a Happy Anniversary. We proceeded to the restaurant and was met by the host(claimed he was manager). He informed us there were no tables available and we would have to wait and could not guarantee a window table. It would probably be 20 minutes or more but was not sure. He also informed us the women who took our reservation should not have promised us a window table since this is not there policy. I told him that was not my issue, I made a reservation for 6:30 for a table by the window and was told I was all set. He provided us with no satisfaction and did not even apologize for the screw up. After much banter I suggested a peace offering, my wife and I would wait @ the bar if the first round of drinks was on him. He flatly said "NO". Well @ that point I had enough of him and his lack of customer relation skills and proceeded for the door. Why anyone would make this guy manager is beyond belief. He lost two + customers and watched us walk out the door and could care less. So, my family and visitors from up north will not be visiting any of there restaurants. If you are looking for water front dining I suggest the Crows Nest or Casey Key Fish House.

Crow's Nest Marina Restaurant & Tavern
Perfect. Right right inside the Venice Inlet. Directly across from the North Jetty Fish Camp on the South end of Casey Key FL. Swimming distance from Snake Island the local swimming spot for boaters and kayakers. The facility including docks are in great shape with a pump out and gas dock right there. Walk about 100 feet for lunch or dinner in the Crows Nest restaurant. Anther option is to walk out to the west end of the jetty wall and watch the people, boats surfers, and water or hit the Venice beach right there at the jetty. It couldn’t be better or more scenic. I put in my kayak, “Jeannie H” an 18 foot white Kevlar sea touring kayak, in at the North Jetty and paddle all around this incredibly beautiful area. The Intra Coastal Waterway, ICW, is right here heading either North to Sarasota, FL. or South to Boca Grande, FL.

Just a moment...
