Memorial Health Center
I took my daughter into the Memorial Health Center for a rapid strep test after being exposed to strep throat and coming down with a soar throat and fever. The front desk staff was very nice and professional. We got back to have the test within a few minutes of our arrival. The RN that saw us was so sweet to my daughter, talking to her, getting her a movie to watch and making her feel a little bit more comfortable. She explained every test she did (which my daughter age 7 appreciated). The strep test results were back quickly. The doctor came in a talked to us for a few minutes and checked to make sure there was nothing else going on with her throat, as her tonsils were quite swollen. We walked out with a prescription in hand (the actual meds not just a script) within an hour. For urgent care, this was exceptional service in a very timely manner.

Erskine Barbara
I did my research to find the most qualified Speech Therapist on the Vancouver side when my daughter needed help for an expressive language disorder. And that person was Barbara Erskine. So when my son needed help with his articulation disorder, I knew who to turn to. She is very knowledgeable, has many different therapy "tools" to draw from, can see the needs of the "whole child," and relates really well to children. She made it fun for my son, even though it was a lot of work for him. But it paid off because he has correct speech now. My son particularly enjoyed the different incentives she used to reward him for his efforts. And I appreciated being able to schedule appointments outside of my work hours. Thanks again, Barbara!

Sea-Mar Community Health Center
Two extraction in one day. Really helpful and will return for more work. They had given me a nitrous gas for the extraction. You will have to ask them about it. But it helps out with any anxiety. The dentist did not waist any time. Pulled them out so fast , I did not know he had pulled out.

Tips & Advices
This depends on the facility. Patients should call to find out if they'll need a referral from their physician prior to making an appointment.
Aside from hyperbaric oxygen treatment, most wound care centers offer:
  • Debridement: The removal of dead skin and tissue surrounding the wound. This can be done surgically, using a whirlpool bath, syringes, enzymes that dissolve the tissue, or wet dressings that dry on the wound and absorb the dead tissue.
  • Dressing: Wrapping the wound in a protective film, gauze, gel, or foam.
  • Compression stockings: Tight-fitted fabric sheaths that encourage blood flow.
  • Artificial skin: A covering that is applied to the wound for several days as it heals.
  • Ultrasound: The use of sound waves to promote healing.
  • Growth factor therapy: The use of materials naturally produced by the body to encourage quick cell growth.
  • Negative pressure therapy: Creating a vacuum around a wound to encourage faster blood flow to the area.
Depending on where the treatment is administered, hyperbaric oxygen treatment  can cost $100- $1,000. After insurance is applied, patients may have a copay of $10 -$50 or a coinsurance fee of 10 percent to 50 percent.
Most wounds should heal within two to six weeks. An individual should seek chronic wound treatment if a wound has not begun to heal after two weeks or is not completely healed after six.
Most health insurance plans cover wound care. Patients should check with the clinic and their health insurance provider before seeking treatment to be sure.
