A great Happy Hour restaurant -- fantastic bargains at happy hour almost too good to miss.Food is fantastic!!Servings are proper and filling.Prices are reasonable and even lower at happy hour.I have a friend from out of town who visits a few times a year and Beaches is a MUST each time he comes into town!!!I have to agree, they are one of the best places to eat drink and be merry, but you do not have to drink to be merry and happy at beaches. They do get crowded, so be prepared for a wait, however it is open seating in the patio and bar area and they serve the same food there too. Also, in good weather, you can seat outside and watch the doings on the river.Did I mention that they are right on the shore, and if you have a boat, they have a landing too!!
I agree ~ the place was nice and expected a lot more. We ordered the cheese tray and some wine. For the price we could have flown to France. The food was your ordinary - run of the mill cheddar, swiss and domestic brie. Cheap stuff. I could have bought better for 20 people for the price they asked for and purchased imported as well. The tray was barely enough for one, however it said for 2. The crackers were stale, and I mean STALE. And for $7 per glass of wine, you would think they would fill the glass. NOPE, only 1/2 full. If you are going for the livingroom setting ~ its very nice, very comfortable. DON'T ORDER THE FOOD.
I went to the Cinetopia in Vancouver mall, the screen was great as were the seats. The food was way overpriced for what we got, and waiters kept having to make me move so they could get by through the first 15 min of the movie, although they said this was not typical, they offered no compensation. and of course that was AFTER they automaticly took out their 15% gratuity, I will NOT be going back there. it was not worth the price or aggrivation for better seats.
I have had nothing but good experiences having lunch and dinner here. Typically, I have the wood grilled steak saladwith romaine, roasted red peppers, onion rings and bleu cheese. The burgers are solid as well, and they have a vast wine selection. It is on the more expensive side, although it is one of the best spots Vancouver has to offer.
