Vinyl Fence Depot
Jack was very late, and he was condescending whenever I asked a direct question and I received no real answers. The Vinyl sample was very thin and had 4 little hallow compartments inside that showed on the outside. I'm an older woman and when I squeezed the vinyl with my fingers, the vinyl gave. Very cheap! I read several articles on vinyl fencing and they all insist that the posts be filled with treated "burial" wood because the vinyl is more of a hallow "sleeve" inside. Jack scoffed at that and made some lame excuses as to why there should be no wood inside their hallow fence support posts. This cheap junk will surely warp in the hot SoCal sun. I read a bunch of Yelp reveiws and many people complained that their fences warped and that the company wouldn't fix it. In fact this company has a hard time, according to their customers, fixing poor or damaged fences that they put up. They also raised their prices if you ask to have things written down and give only a 5 year warranty

DO NOT TRUST. See website for 'restocking fee.' It's not there. Business owner Steve is extremely rude and if you order you better hope nothing goes wrong because customer service is non existent. Receptionist first said "we don't take returns."From their website return policy "Childguard Industries Inc., guarantees satisfaction. We will refund the purchase price of any in-stock item that the buyer is not satisfied with."I did not even mention to them about the poor instructions that made the $250+ gate essentially useless. Before returning some sections of fence I spoke to Steve and his receptionist on separate occasions and no penalties were mentioned. So I asked him if it's not on your website or in any kind of writing you could charge 30% for all I know. Well he said do you want me to charge you 30%? I'll do it. So basically if you make a transaction and have no concerns worth mentioning then fine, you have a bunch of poles and mesh just as advertised. However, if you think there is even a slight chance you will need to contact them for service on ANYTHING then you might as well pound your head on a brick wall because that'll be more effective. On that note you can seriously question the whole 6 year warranty thing, too. I'm certainly not counting on it and hoping this holds up or I'm down a good chunk of change.

Vinyl Fence Depot
If looking to replace your fence look someplace else. This place did a terrible job on a fence that my neighbor coordinated and I paid half. I was told by the person who installed the fence that it was very difficult to scratch the fence. On the day of installation I was not home when the fence was finished. When I arrived home my neighbor told me to let the concrete set for 24 and do not clean the fence. The next day I cleaned the fence with water only and noticed several scratches and a few spots where the underlay material was showing through. Also the fence is not even. My neighbor called the company to come back out and they replaced a few of the boards/slats. However, they made it worse. There is a very strange line going through two entire sections. Vinyl Fence Depot came back out and they are now saying that it isn't their responsibility. They said it looks like someone sprayed something on the fence and that is what caused the lines. Well they are the only ones that sprayed anything on the fence. I wish I had the old rotten wood fence back and my money. If I was the person who coordinated the install I would have insisted immediately that they take the entire fence down and redo.
Tips & Advices
Homeowners should work with a fencing contractor who is certified by or a member of one or more trade organizations, including American Fence Association or the North American Fence Contractors Association.
If a contractor requires an immediate decision, asks you to pay cash or doesn't provide an estimate.
  • Ask for portfolio examples
  • What's their reputation?
  • Is the work guaranteed?
  • Is there a warranty?
With exposure to the sun and the elements, wood fences are prone to cracking, warping and cupping. homeowners are encouraged to clean, seal and stain their fence at least every three years. Clean the fence with a specially formulated cleaner. After 15 to 20 minutes, use a pressure washer to remove any mold, mildew and debris from the fence. Then seal and stain the fence to protect it. An oil stain is recommended, as it penetrates the material and can maintain its condition for years.
Homeowners may use soap and water to clean off these materials, but they generally don't require much more than that. These options can be good for those that want a sturdy but low-touch fence.
