Generally speaking it's a good hospital. My mom worked there for 22 years prior to retiring. I had to stay one weekend there for a broken knee and received good treatment. My dad didn't get such good treatment on one visit to the ER. He fell earlier that day and was so weak he could hardly walk. I called 911 because I couldn't help him to the car. The ER doc said they wouldn't send him home until he could walk. They sent him home anyways and I had to have an ambulance take him home, which came out of his pocket. That was Christmas Eve. I had to take him back two days later and he spent a few days in the hospital. When he got the bill for the ambulance I tried to fight it and I got rejected. The "investigation" stated there as no wrong doing on the part of the ER doctor so that ER doctor, or someone, lied. I was utterly shocked and disappointed.

Overall I will admit St. Anthony's is a good hospital. Mostly everything is modern and most of the Doctors that I've seen have been friendly and good at what they do. The billing department however is by far one of the worst I've ever had the displeasure of dealings with. What I mean is once you're in the system and you ever move or switch insurance companies you're pretty much screwed. For some reason the different departments can't coordinate updated information with the central billing department. By the time you realize there is a discrepency you're already in collections. When you call the billing department to see who they billed it's always the old insurance company and sent to your old address. They can never give you a straight answer on why it didn't update. No matter how many times you give them the right information the end result is the same. It got to the point where I had to switch hospitals because they still can't get it right.
