Chet Cooley DDS
I just moved to Texas and was in need of a reliable dentist since I had a few teeth that needed some work. My previous dentist told me that I needed a root canal, even though I was never in any pain. So when I was referred to Dr. Cooley by a couple of co-workers, he told me that I definitely did not need a root canal, which saved me a ton of money! Dr. Cooley treated me like I was family, which is something I've never experienced with any other dentist. He made sure that I was doing ok during my entire procedure and even took the time to call me the day after my appointment and check up on me. Very considerate, honest, reliable, and professional. I have already recommend him to other co-workers who are in need of a new dentist!

I've been taking my children to Kool Smiles for going on 2 years now. I must say that I'm very pleased with the service. Lacrystal Geter is one of the most caring professional caring dental hygienist. She cleaned my children teeth on several occasions and everytime we come in to an appointment Lacrystal Geter always greets us with a smile and Hello. My children always says that they hope she's the one who cleans their teeth because they feel very comfortable with her. If you're ever looking for a good Dentist to take your children to I personally would recommend Kools Smiles. We leave every visit with a smile. Thanks Kools Smiles for Awesome Professional service!

I have to admit, I was expecting much more. The play area left much to be desired. When we finally got back after an hour-an hour and a half, it was like conveyor belt dentistry. Putting 2 children to a chair, and was very impersonal. I was very upset that their paperwork included restraining and holding children down. And I'm not too sure why some of my children are being sent for sealants when just a few months ago their old dentist did not see a need. No one explained what they needed, just sent me up front for a slip, and didn't even know the type of sealants they were recommending. I was however glad that they did not harass me about declining fluoride.

Kool Smiles is a great place! Although the play area usually needs lysoled, my kids want to go to the dentist every time we pass there! Kudos to Takolia Nelson and Olisa Dews for being so prompt and friendly at our visit today! A nice, friendly atmosphere is always good when he kids are anxious about the work being done! My only complaint would be that the automated system calls every day of the week and all hours of the day. This is rather annoying when I have already confirmed appointments and the calls continue to come. Other than that, we love Kool Smiles and are very pleased with all of the staff there!

Bullard Road Dental
I just went for my annual exam and I am so glad that the Army's Logistics Health Readiness has Bullard Road Dental on their list of local providers in Tyler. This year, just like last year, I was met with a smile and treated with outstanding service by a knowledgeable staff. Dr. Justin Jones and Mallory-Jason McCledon are both very personable and take the time to explain and answer any questions. All of the staff are friendly and I can tell they know their patients on a first-name-basis. This is my second time I have been here for my annual exam and if I ever need any work done, I know where I'll return.

Fresh Dental: Tyler
The entire team was awesome. We were satisfied with the team there. They were all nice and professional. The x-rays were quick and painless as well as the dentist! The financial women there were awesome. She broke everything down and changed anything we had questions about. They had Xbox in the waiting room and movies my daughter could watch from the dentist chair while waiting. We will be going back and I do recommend this place to anyone who needs a dentist home.

The staff here is amazing! I brought my niece in for a couple of procedures and the dr and nurse were great with her. As soon as she got te gas anesthesia she started dancing in her seat. She loves coming here and is excited every time. I wish I was as excited to go to the dentist as she was. I would completely recommend kool smiles to anyone with children. They are so great, thank you so much to the staff of kool smiles for taking such good care of my niece.

Cola and Dr Amy are an amazing team. My son came in for a sealant and they had him laughing from the moment they had him in the chair!! He is a quiet boy, so to see him laughing it up with complete strangers was a comfort to me. They were very efficient in their work and kept him comfortable by informing him of what they were doing and would be happening! I highly recommend Cola and Dr Amy!!!
Tips & Advices
  • If a tooth decays and the nerves or pulp (soft internal tissue which helps teeth develop) become inflamed or infected
  • If a tooth is cracked or broken and nerves are exposed
This generally depends on any specific issues you wish to address with your teeth. There are toothpastes designed to whiten teeth, fight cavities, decrease sensitivity, prevent bad breath, resist gingivitis, and those specific to children (with lower fluoride content). There are also toothpastes that offer “complete” protection by combining aspects of many of the above toothpastes.
It’s recommended to get a professional cleaning at least two times per year.
  • Desensitizing toothpaste numbs the nerves in the teeth that can cause discomfort.
  • Mouth guard can protect against grinding teeth during sleep.
  • Fluoride treatment can be applied by dentists to sensitive areas to numb teeth and strengthen enamel.
  • Root canal can treat problems in a tooth’s core.
  • Surgical gum graft where a piece of gum tissue is removed from a section of the mouth to cover an exposed root.
Not everyone needs to have their wisdom teeth removed, but there are certain signs that can help you and your doctor determine if yours should be:
  • Wisdom teeth are pushing other teeth around, causing pain and misalignment
  • Cysts form around newly emerged wisdom teeth, causing jaw damage
  • Gums get inflamed and swollen, causing cavities and pain
  • Doctor determine from x-rays that wisdom teeth will cause problems in the near future
