Mill Creek Carpet & Tile
Earlier this week, I had roughly $7100 worth of work done by MillCreek in Tulsa, Ok. The project involved removing 1100 sq ft of carpeting on our bottom floor and replacing it with wood laminate. Apparently MillCreek has several contract crews doing installation work and I was fortunate enough to have Freddie do the installation on this job with a helper. Freddie is super polite, professional, detailed, and very fast. He takes a lot of pride in his work. It took him 2 days to complete this job. I did the math and figured that he and his helper worked at a rate of 75 sq ft an hour (includes moving the furniture, removing the capeting, pad, and trim and installing the new wood laminate). It's incredible! I would recommend anyone looking to get flooring done at MillCreek to ask about Freddie's availability. I also had the pleasure of working with Linda Lakey as my consultant on this job. She has a background in interior decorating, so she was able to help us find the right color and shade of laminate to best match our walls and furniture. We never felt pressured for a decision on anything. She was concerned with us getting exactly what we wanted, how we wanted it, and when we needed it. My wife and I went at our own pace and asked a lot of questions about the materials, costs, financing, and installation. We found Linda to be very honest, knowledgable, pleasant, and professional. I was initially nervous with doing this big of a project and not having any personal experience in dealing with MillCreek. But everything turned out great and my wife and I couldn't be happier with how it all turned out. I would certainly use MillCreek again if I ever do any more flooring projects, especially if I could work with the same people again. One thing that I did learn on this project is that I am glad that I went with the thicker (12mm) wood laminate. Once the carpeting was removed, we found that my foundation wasn't perfectly level(no foundation is, some are worse/better than others). Linda, Freddie, and I discussed some possible remedies once the foundation imperfections were found. But they suggested to me that I could live with not having anything extra work done since the thicker laminate would flex less and make it less noticeable when I walked on it. And so far, I agree with that.

After the May 2012 hail storm, we contacted several roofing companies, and we were told it would be at least six weeks before a person would come to our home to give an estimate for the damage. We called Eagle Roofing on Saturday morning after receiving a flyer. Randy Kelley was at our home in two hours. He had our estimate the following Monday with a schedule to begin work the following Friday. The work was complete by Saturday afternoon. (One week later) He answered all questions in a very timely fashion. He was at our home when the actual roofing and repairs began, many times during the process and for a final inspection. He was always very honest and efficient. We will always have Randy Kelley with Eagle Roofing handle our Roofing, Guttering and Screen Repairs.

Have to get a new roof and dreading it (like we did)? Fear no more! Eagle Roofing & Construction in Tulsa, OK just completed our roof over the weekend (from wood shake to composition roof) and the job was OUTSTANDING. Great experience from beginning to end. Strong attention to detail. Price was competitive and had the entire job done in one day. Had we known this was going to be such a positive easy experience and it was going to look so good, we would have done it a long time ago! Highly recommend, there is nothing I would change.

Outdoor Creations
Jake and Jason just helped me with my home. My insurance actually denied the claim on my hail damaged roof. If it wasn't for Outdoor Creations Roofing I would have had to pay for my roof out of my own pocket. They followed up with my insurance, provided additional information and got my claim approved. It was easy and stress free for me. They are outstanding to work with. My roof is amazing. The crew cleaned up before they left each day including any nails!! I can't thank them enough.

A-Best Roofing
A-Best roofing responded to my call on a Sunday after the big storm here in Tulsa happened. It damaged my roof. They scheduled me for Tuesday with Scott Munsinger to check on my roof. I received an exceptional service from him . He took time to explain in detail my options to repair my roof. He was honest and responded all my questions on a timely and respectful way. Scott is reliable and I recommend him completely.

Most professional and superb service. Randy Kelley handled it all from start to finish. We made one phone call after the devastating hail storm, Randy handled everything from roof, gutters, windows, painting, to putting back on the screens himself. I never made another call and it was wonderful to know that everything was done better than when the house was first built! I would never use anyone else!

The wind storm in 2013 hit our house very hard. We interviewed a few different candidates and there was one clear choice. Randy was amazing. He did everything we asked for and more. When choosing your next job there is no one else you should work with. Not only is he the best roofer in Tulsa, but he is a genuine wonderful person to know. He got the work done fast and right. Thank you so much Randy!!!

Arrowhead Roofing
Mark and his team were fantastic! So easy to communicate with! When we had wind and hail damage to our roof from an early summer storm, they were good to provide us with a great solution! I was nervous about how all of this was going to go, but it wasn't very long before I was set at ease and confident with the work they provided. Now I have the best looking roof on my block!! Thanks, Arrowhead!!
Tips & Advices
In most states, contractors are required to have a license before taking a job. Some states also require registration. To be licensed, contractors must pass an exam and meet certain qualifications that prove he or she is a competent flooring contractor. Registration is simply a list of who will be performing a job.
The time it takes to install flooring depends on the type of flooring and the size of the room or rooms involved in the project. In one day, a typical contractor can usually install up to 2,000 square feet of carpet, 600 square feet of hardwood or laminate, or 400 square feet of tile or stone.
  • Do you have a professional license, insurance, and a business liability policy?
  • Who will work on the project?
  • Do you subcontract, and do you screen workers and have insurance policies to cover them?
  • Do you have references or examples of your work I can see?
  • Do you charge for an in-home estimate?
  • What type of flooring is best for my home in terms of architectural consistency, environmental influences (such as whether a certain type of flooring will be affected by humidity in my area), and durability?
Legally, insurance is not necessary, but it's a good idea for flooring contractors to have it. When hiring a flooring contractor, ask whether the business is insured. If it's not, consider that a red flag.
A flooring contractor should know the pros and cons of each flooring option. These might include pricing, time of installation, durability, and average lifespan of the material.

Just a moment...
