My washer/dryer combo had a crack in the agitator. it was terrible to call the 800 warranty number. i had no help at all. no sympathy, no nothing!!! this was on nov 20, 2015. they gave me an appointment for nov 25. he came and ordered the agitator which i had told them was cracked. on dec 2 the part came. i called as advised . new appointment for dec 8. man came and put in new agitator and left. machine did not agitate. called again. another appointment dec 11. he came and saw what was cracked and got the piece and replaced two parts. wow and he checked to see that it worked. it was a wonder due to a KIm, a local sears worker and Jim, the repairman that i could finally do some wash again at home. this was a very disheartening experience after many helpful years with sears in the past.

Love doing business with Sears, but don't like that I couldn't schedule with a person to discuss the problem I was having...had to do it on line. Had a window of between 10:00 am and 2:00 pm. Finally got a call around 5:30 pm from the tech apologizing that the call just got added to his schedule and he could be there in 20 minutes. The problem that I stated on the on line form was that I believed the dryer tubing/piping had to be cleaned out due to lint build up...the tech (who was great and very professional) said that they don't do that and that we would have to call another company who does that sort of thing. I could have saved the $79.00 service call if I could have talked to a real person when scheduling and they could have told me that. Frustrated.

Sears keeps sending me an email to rate them for our A/C repair. We only had a spring check-up, not a repair. So here goes..... The sears tech came from Phoenix. Nice enough. He powered through the check faster than we are used to which is ok as long as he didn't skip or miss anything. The reason why I am only giving 2 stars is because he spent more than 30 minutes afterwards trying to convince us to buy a different kind of warranty for our house, instead of the Sears Home Warranty. He said we couldn't look up the information up on the Sears website and he didn't have any pamphlets with the information. We just had to give him more than $500 dollars. Thought it was a scam and was really surprised that he would do that, being the blue shirt Sears guys.

I think my fridge is finally working. The first repairman said it needed a new main board which cost $525 (only 13 months old). I give that visit one star. The second guy immediately diagnosed the problem as ice jamming the icemaker. He steamed it to melt the ice and sealed the ice room. Now works fine. I would give him five stars. Therefore I'm giving two stars (average of both visits minus one star for paying over $500 for the main board which was not needed).

The service rep was prompt, and very friendly and knowlegable about our washing machine. He did not have the correct part in his van but attempted to call other reps in the area to exopidite getting it. He ultimatley had to drive to the nearest parts shop and pick it up. The over all experience with you repair rep was excellent.

The Tech was prompt,friendly and knowledgeable.He quickly diagnosed the problem with my hot water heater and had the right part to replace it immediately.He even called the service contract person for me and I was able to get a 5year contract over the phone so I 'll be worry free if another problem arises in the future.

Makes sure everything is checked and working properly, does not rush anything, answers questions and gave me good tips on keeping my washer and dryer clean on a monthly cleaning. I was very pleased with the service even though the reservation person failed to give the serviceman the refrigerator model # etc so that the correct filter was in the truck. The serviceman came back with the filter later that day to correct the error and I was very happy he went to take care of all that for me.

The technician was great! He diagnosed the problem with make and model of our wall heater within minutes after arriving and after our OK ordered the part immediately He returned 5 hrs. later with the required part and made the repair in minutes. His/Sears service is highly appreciated & we couldn't ask for more!

David arrived on time and fixed my dishwasher closing mechanism. He had to order some parts because the upper blade had come off and it needed some clips. He showed me how to do it myself to save some $ but I will most likely call them back when they arrive. Thanks, Sears!

Aftermarket replacement parts can be perfectly safe and reliable, but be sure to do your research. If replacing a more integral piece, such as washing machine’s water pump or a thermostat for a busted water heater, it might be best to purchase new.

If you’re seeking new parts repair companies will generally mark up their prices slightly--particularly at a major national retailer. However, used parts are typically discounted.
Cheaper used appliance parts can be found online or at many local, independently owned retailers, along with ecommerce sites such as eBay. Major retailers, however, generally limit their selection to unused, full-priced options.
Second-hand appliance parts are generally anywhere between 50-75% cheaper than new ones, but warranties might not extend as long and the parts may be less reliable or come with a shorter lifespan. Be sure to research the source of any second-hand parts to ensure the dealer is reputable and the part itself reliable.
