Revive Auto Repair
I've always dreaded taking my car to a mechanic because I was worried that they were going to rip me off. My friend told me about Revive Auto, and said they were the most reliable honest auto repair shop he has ever been to, so I thought I might as well give them a chance since my check engine light was on and I was in desperate need for a oil change.I arrived at Revive Auto around 10am, there was 2 people being serviced when I walked in, but right when I walked it I was helped immediately which was a pleasant surprise considering you usually have to wait forever at mechanic shops. I told the mechanic that helped me all my issues and he said no worries he will take a look at it asap. within 30 minutes, I had received my oil change and a answer to my check engine light. It was nothing more then a silly clogged air filter. They could have told me it was anything, but they were honest and it made me feel comfortable to use them from that moment on.From that day I've used them for all my auto needs. I went in 2 weeks ago for a flat tire, received 4 brand new tired $80 cheaper then Discount & Belle Tire!!! I didn't even know they could come cheaper then that! They also accept foreign and luxury cars. my dad takes his Lexus and my moms Cadillac in there because he said they are the only ones he trusts with his babies. So if your looking for a good honest auto repair shop, Revive Auto is the ONLY place I would recommend to my friends and Family. If you want good honest advice and you want quality work done on your car or truck then revive is where you go!

Automotive Authority
My ball joints were making a ton of racket, so I had my mechanic friend check them out [we had conflicting schedules so it wasn't logistically possible for him to fix it for me at the time]. He warned me that it's typically an expensive fix, but it's very necessary. I called around to various mechanics' shops, knowing exactly what was in need of fixing, and most wouldn't provide any indication of the cost of fixing this problem. A few that I called quoted nearly $1000, because they 'had' to fix all four. Automotive Authority said they would check out the car, but if the problem was what I said it was, it would be significantly cheaper than $1000. They fixed the ball joint, and I got an oil change, and made it out of there for less than $300. They informed me of a few things they saw as potential problems, but said that they weren't urgent, just that I should keep an eye out for them. I had my mechanic friend check out the car afterward to make sure they actually did something [seeing as it was so inexpensive] and he said everything was done, and done well. I would highly recommend them!

J & M Collision Inc
I had a great experience with J & M Collision. They were friendly and gave me an itemized quote that was a few hundred dollars less than a nearby competitor. The work itself was very well done, and they got it done quickly to save me money a rental car. They also have a relationship with a nearby Enterprise, which makes car rental easy and affordable. They did drop the ball a little on communicating with me to let me know parts were in, but overall I would still go back and would recommend them to friends.

Automotive Authority
I went into All Night Auto today, they were very friendly, let me look under my car while it was on the lift and let me see exactly what the problem was. They explained the different options I had and listened to my concerns. When I said I would have to wait to get my muffler fixed the young man at the counter said he could put a quick fix on my car to get me by for free! I was very impressed with the cleanliness of the facility, they had a tv on that you could watch, it wasn't stuffy at all.

Automotive Authority
I would recommend Automotive Authority to anyone I know. I had a busted radiator late on a Saturday afternoon (today), and although the shop "closed" at 6 pm, Tim Anderson stayed late to fix my car so I could be on my way. It would have been a giant inconvenience to leave it overnight since I live in Canton, and I highly appreciate his hard work today. And the price was very reasonable!

Tips & Advices
Among the common scams pulled are needless repairs, where a garage charges you for work that isn't necessary. Another popular one is attracting customers through a cheap oil change or tire pressure check. Then, when you your car is being repaired, they give you a long list of other corrections they'd like to make, therefore boosting the total cost of your bill. The best way to combat these types of problems is getting a written estimate before work is done so you can see how much repairs are expected to cost. If the final bill is higher than the estimate projected, ask to specifically see the work. Make sure information is put in writing as well. If a problem remains, you can have proof that work was not done to your satisfaction.
For winter driving, features such as the defroster, heater and exhaust system are paramount. Look in your owner's manual for specific directions on how features should be checked and repaired. Many newer cars have a cabin air filter that can be replaced when needed, allowing warm air to continue to flow in. Also, check tires before winter driving, as they need to be at the proper pressure to perform well on snow and ice.
In the spring and summer, you want to be sure your air conditioner and cooling systems work correctly. Given the high temperatures, overheating is a common problem. Look over the system by ensuring there is enough coolant available. If it needs to be refilled, it is best to open the hood and add more to the car before it gets too warm out. Also, clean out fan ducts and other ventilation sources necessary for summertime driving.
Some fixes to your car can be done without paying a specialist. Issues like replacing oil and air filters are relatively simple, with instructions provided in the owner's manual on how to make these changes. The same goes for replacing broken windshield wipers or burnt-out headlights. Such issues should be repaired quickly to guarantee safety, but don't require a visit to a garage.
Yes. Not every type of auto repair work needs to be done by a certified mechanic. You can fix some of a vehicle's issues just by paying attention to how the automobile is running and having a basic understanding of auto repair. Look over the ways weather may impact your car and what preventative measures you can take to avoid having to take it into the shop.
