Veterinary Service Dr. Thomas R Ross
Exceptional Value and ServiceDr. Ross has been taking care of my pets for many years. Dr. Ross is a great Vet; he is straightforward and truly cares about animals. His prices are are fair and reasonable. I've had to take my dogs to a few other Vets when he's been out of town; however, it only increases my appreciation for Dr. Ross and his staff. Dr Ross is definitely the most reasonably priced Vet in Tracy. He doesn't try to sell you unneeded tests or overpriced medications. The other Vets in town lure you in by quoting/advertising a lower fee; however, the cost is much higher when you leave. Dr. Ross is thorough and efficient.; he treats my animals immediately, without any unnecessary tests, and he administers the medicine that will immediately help the pain, stress, or infection. Additionally, Dr. Ross showed me how to care for ongoing problems at home first. Over the years, Dr. Ross saved me money and unnecessary surgery. This results in lower costs and healthier animals. I've seen a few bad reviews, and heard that some people don't appreciate his bedside manner, but with the number of times I've been to his office (or house calls because of the large animals) I can't imagine they are talking about the same person. Over the years he has treated several dogs, cats, horses, sheep, goats, and even chickens. I find him to be very nice, honest and to the point; he is someone who cares for your pets and he will not try and sell you unneeded tests, treatments, or overpriced medications. Those bad reviewers were probably not educated in animal husbandry. You can trust Dr. Ross and his staff (209-836-0796). He has treated my animals for years and hopefully will continue to be their vet for many years to come. If anyone in the area is looking for a good, honest, and truly caring Vet, go see Dr. Ross.

Paws & Claws Veterinary Hospital
DO NOT TAKE YOUR PET HERE!!!I took my dog in the hours of the AM. The receptionist was friendly and helpful but the dr was extremely rude and uneducated. I was immediately quoted 1800 dollars with absolutely no answers on what could potentially be wrong after they saw him vomit bloody vile in their lobby. They wanted to keep him overnight and run unnecessary tests. When I got a second opinion first thing in the morning I was told that his intestines had clearly been torn by a foreign object. There was no saving him at this point and I lost my best friend. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE!! It is worth the drive out of town to see a knowledgeable veterinarian that will not just take all of your money without helping your animal. We called to let them know and spoke with the manager of the clinic she told us that the vet on duty had notes their was a tear in his intestine which she did NOT give us this information and could have been life changing to know in saving his life before it was too late.

Assured Pet & Home Sitting Services
Lil, the owner runs this business like a military officer. Due to her many years of experience, she pays attention to every little detail to make sure your pet or pets are well taken care of while you are away. I love the fact that she requires you give her detailed information about your furry babies. During her interview with my Boys she did everything an Expert would do to meet pets. My Boys love her!! Some other things I love about this professional organization are the emergency tags for your pet, the cost of services, it's a family business, friendly service, you get a report card on your pets when you return home, and how my Boys were so relaxed when I returned home. I am extremely impressed with Assued Pet & Home Sitting Services and would highly recommend them.

Assured Pet & Home Sitting Services
Second time I have used this service and love the feeling of being able to leave cat in capable hands and have the house watched over at the same time. Lil and team are reliable, efficient, pay attention to detail, and love the animals. Mine is a hidey cat so isn't seen much, but they make sure he is well taken care of and healthy. They also take care of little things that could go wrong like checking that the pool sweep is running and watering the plants. Prices reasonable and it's very reassuring to know I can leave home with no pet worries. They run their operation very professionally.

Tips & Advices
Bring medical records and medications that your pet is taking. Also, you should bring your ID and a form of payment.
Yes, there are veterinary clinics that only deal with emergency cases. They generally take walk-ins and referrals from family vets.
Yes, emergency vets treat dental emergencies and dental trauma. Freshly fractured teeth are the main category of dental injury that vets consider an emergency.
To prevent health emergencies, experts recommend supervising one’s pets, and trying to make sure they don’t get into emergency situations. A majority of emergency vet visits happen because animals were struck by cars, bit by other animals, or ingested toxins. Otherwise, the best way to prevent emergencies is by having a go-to vet you can call with any questions, and being vigilant about potential symptoms (i.e. runny stool, or trouble walking) as they appear but before they become extremely serious.
Experts say that the conditions that necessitate an emergency veterinarian visit include collapse, seizures, inability to walk, partial paralysis, and any difficulty breathing (non-stop panting, constant coughing, hyperventilation, or elevated heart rate). Gum color is often an indicator that something is wrong--especially blue gums or very pale gums. Excessive vomiting or a distended abdomen should be considered an emergency situation. Signs of any trauma or excessive bleeding should send your pet straight to the vet. Lastly, for cat owners, urinary obstruction is fatal if not treated, and generally occurs in male cats.
