Classic Star Mercedes
I finally found a mercedes shop i can trust i had always had my mercedes repaired at the dealer and every time they give me a huge list of things the car needs , my friend told me about classic star mercedes in torrance i was sceptical but took my mercedes there with the list from the dealer , after they checked my car i was told that it did not need most of the repairs and the repairs that it did need where minor and less expensive than the dealer had quoted me , i was so happy with the service that i have told all my friends about classic star, as a women i feel very comfortable taking my car there knowing i will not be ripped off. to sum it all up they take their time to explain the problems and make you feel confident that your car will not have any problems

Sion's Auto Center
I bought my used car from a dealer and found out shortly after my purchase that my AC and brakes were not working properly. After comparing prices and service reviews, I wasn't going to come here but Benjamin was friendly and explained his analysis of my vehicle in an understandable manner. I left with his quote and explanation, still contemplating on which Auto Service I would confide in (especially after my used car fiasco). Sion's Auto Center was the winner. Benjamin called me back promptly after leaving, asking if I had any questions and to have a nice day. Customer service like that is hard to find these days. I have been going here for all of my car needs since. I'd recommend this business to anyone!

Hillside Auto Repair
I drove my car into the shop because i could hear and feel i had wheel problems. I was shown the problem which was serious and giving an estimate as to what the charges would be. I decided that it would be better to buy a new car than to invest in this car. I was advised to get my car towed back to my place do to the severity of three problem. They waived the $65 for going through my car and checking to find the problem. I appreciated their professionalism.

Hillside Auto Repair
I actually didn't use their services yet however, I thought I'd let people know that the owners of this business are civic minded and are Gold Sponsors of the Seaside Neighborhood Association (near their business) whose main purpose is to award two outstanding senior high school students from the neighborhood with a scholarship towards their college experience. YAY, Dave Carney!

Nelson's Auto Repair & Smog Check
I shopped around different smog and auto repair shops and found that most were either one or the other. But to my suprise that Nelson did it all in one place and even stayed open late so when I got off work I could get my smog and tune up done all in one place. Highly recommended, super friendly, and professional.

Performance Transmission & Auto Repair
The best! Mr. Rojas literally told me that the problem I was having was my clutch (when everyone else was trying to rip me off by telling me it was the transmission); I rarely review a business online - they really have to go above and beyond. Performance Transmission & Auto did just that! Thanks, Mr. Rojas!

Tips & Advices
Among the common scams pulled are needless repairs, where a garage charges you for work that isn't necessary. Another popular one is attracting customers through a cheap oil change or tire pressure check. Then, when you your car is being repaired, they give you a long list of other corrections they'd like to make, therefore boosting the total cost of your bill. The best way to combat these types of problems is getting a written estimate before work is done so you can see how much repairs are expected to cost. If the final bill is higher than the estimate projected, ask to specifically see the work. Make sure information is put in writing as well. If a problem remains, you can have proof that work was not done to your satisfaction.
For winter driving, features such as the defroster, heater and exhaust system are paramount. Look in your owner's manual for specific directions on how features should be checked and repaired. Many newer cars have a cabin air filter that can be replaced when needed, allowing warm air to continue to flow in. Also, check tires before winter driving, as they need to be at the proper pressure to perform well on snow and ice.
In the spring and summer, you want to be sure your air conditioner and cooling systems work correctly. Given the high temperatures, overheating is a common problem. Look over the system by ensuring there is enough coolant available. If it needs to be refilled, it is best to open the hood and add more to the car before it gets too warm out. Also, clean out fan ducts and other ventilation sources necessary for summertime driving.
Some fixes to your car can be done without paying a specialist. Issues like replacing oil and air filters are relatively simple, with instructions provided in the owner's manual on how to make these changes. The same goes for replacing broken windshield wipers or burnt-out headlights. Such issues should be repaired quickly to guarantee safety, but don't require a visit to a garage.
Yes. Not every type of auto repair work needs to be done by a certified mechanic. You can fix some of a vehicle's issues just by paying attention to how the automobile is running and having a basic understanding of auto repair. Look over the ways weather may impact your car and what preventative measures you can take to avoid having to take it into the shop.
