Rock Roofing
I had anew roof put on my house last month and am very happy with the job. I obtained 4 estimates, most of whom I found on Angies List, and believe I would have been happy with all of them. The estimates were all within a close range. My major requirement was that I wanted a local company with a regular crew, not a national company who, I felt, may not know their workers and possibly hire anyone off the street depending on how busy they were. Rocky personally provided the estimate, answered all my questions, told me about the supplies they use and the reason they did certain things the way they did. He seemed very knowledgeble and was not at all pushy. I chose him because he seemed to care the most about doing the best job and took pride in his work. The guys came early in the morning and completed the roof in one day. My yard was spotless when I got home from work. The roof looks great and I obviously can't be sure I won't have problems but I feel very confident that any problems will be handled professionally and honestly. He also sent someone (Jeremy I think) to improve the ventilation in my attic and insulate a storage closet a few weeks later who were also very friendly and professional. I asked Rocky if I needed more insulation in my attic and he did not recommend that (and he could have) but did recommend better ventilation. I had new gutters and gutter guards installed and they look great also. I will follow up with this review next spring and hopefully won't have any leaks this winter. Oh, I also got a great warranty.

Tips & Advices
The most common types of roofing material are:
  • Asphalt shingles
  • Metal roofing
  • Slate shingles
  • Concrete roofing
Metal roofing material and algae-resistant asphalt shingles are the appropriate roofing material for rainy climates.
Houses located in  areas which are prone to wildfires, should avoid the use of flammable roofing materials such as wood shingles.
Not only should you ask to get in contact with past clients, it is also recommended that  homeowners visit projects currently underway to see how the contractor or company actually performs during a job. You can also go online and check out other customer reviews.
Reputable roofers do offer a warranty against poor workmanship. Additionally, the material used often carries a warranty from the manufacturer against defects (assuming proper installation). It is the homeowner’s responsibility to check on the availability of all such warranties before any work is performed.
