Smitty's Automotive Service
If there was a rating lower then 1 star I would give it. They treated my daughter with much distain and disrespect that I would NEVER recommend anyone use their services. They also take advantage of females and college students.Shame on you for being so foul and nasty!

Midwest Motors
I bought a used Hyundai SUV. He assured and sweared over his family that everything was fine. I believed him and took it to the mechanic just to be told they have purposefully burnt some of the code lights so I am not able to detect the faults. $2000 in repairs needed. Mike is a very dishonest man. Never again

Charged full price but did not deliver a complete job. Refused to refund partial payment. Sweet talking but irresponsible. I won't let this bunch of people come near me.

Atlas Bridal Shop Inc.
I don't recommend blue by atlas. I had a poor experience with a beaded prom dress, considering the majority of beads were missing. the beads were falling off. the seam was even beginning to tear in the back! we didn't notice it until the day after purchase. the workers were fine, but the dresses are simply "overpriced low-quality dresses".

Jim's Auto Repair
in short Jims AutoHad my car for 35 daysMade me pay $2000 dollarsStill didn't fix it completely, which apparently was an "obvious" fixAnd when all was said and done did not even put my tire back on correctly costing me another $50 bucks!Absolutely 100% unprofessional, never called me with updates and every time I called they were "working on it".They fixed the subframe but it was Still having electrical issues (the Same issues I brought it in with) so when they finally called me it was to tell me to take it somewhere else and I owed them the rest of the money. I argued that it Still wasn't fixed and he had the nerve to tell me that they don't Do electrical work!! So what exactly was it DOING there for those 35 days?!Fair warning.....

Kreative Koatings Custom Powder Coating
I had a similar experience to Dana. Dropped off motorcycle parts to be powder coated and was told to pick them up in three days. six weeks later after countless lies I finally had to have the Sheriffs Dept. meet me to get them back. Not a real business, not professional. I had to have ALL of the parts redone because of the powder coating coming off. Stay away from Rob Atkin! Its worth noting that he is now doing business out of Bubba's Diesel.
Tips & Advices
Among the common scams pulled are needless repairs, where a garage charges you for work that isn't necessary. Another popular one is attracting customers through a cheap oil change or tire pressure check. Then, when you your car is being repaired, they give you a long list of other corrections they'd like to make, therefore boosting the total cost of your bill. The best way to combat these types of problems is getting a written estimate before work is done so you can see how much repairs are expected to cost. If the final bill is higher than the estimate projected, ask to specifically see the work. Make sure information is put in writing as well. If a problem remains, you can have proof that work was not done to your satisfaction.
For winter driving, features such as the defroster, heater and exhaust system are paramount. Look in your owner's manual for specific directions on how features should be checked and repaired. Many newer cars have a cabin air filter that can be replaced when needed, allowing warm air to continue to flow in. Also, check tires before winter driving, as they need to be at the proper pressure to perform well on snow and ice.
In the spring and summer, you want to be sure your air conditioner and cooling systems work correctly. Given the high temperatures, overheating is a common problem. Look over the system by ensuring there is enough coolant available. If it needs to be refilled, it is best to open the hood and add more to the car before it gets too warm out. Also, clean out fan ducts and other ventilation sources necessary for summertime driving.
Some fixes to your car can be done without paying a specialist. Issues like replacing oil and air filters are relatively simple, with instructions provided in the owner's manual on how to make these changes. The same goes for replacing broken windshield wipers or burnt-out headlights. Such issues should be repaired quickly to guarantee safety, but don't require a visit to a garage.
Yes. Not every type of auto repair work needs to be done by a certified mechanic. You can fix some of a vehicle's issues just by paying attention to how the automobile is running and having a basic understanding of auto repair. Look over the ways weather may impact your car and what preventative measures you can take to avoid having to take it into the shop.
