I lived at Heathergate Club apartments for 4 years. Their office staff is rude. It would take 3 phone calls to office to get something fixed or repaired. I had little fruit flies , that I could not get rid of. They told me I would have to exterminate myself. My fruit was was always stored in fridge. They mostly were in the bathroom. My faucets and bathtub fixtures were so old. They were coming off and instead of replacing with new fixtures, they recaulked fixtures. I was with out heat one night , when I came home , I called office, they said too late to call someone out. It was 5:00 pm on a Thursday night. Instead they came over with some out dated heaters(2). I was afraid to use them, might cause a fire. They would hold me responsible. They fixed furnace, and a short time later, furnace went out again. They do not clean their furnaces on a regular basis. I finally saved up buy a house, and gave them 45 days notice in writing. I received info on what needed to be cleaned and keys returned , when I move out , to receive my deposit back of $250. Insult , they sent me a check for $40. I called office to dispute, chipped baseboard in dining room, was there ,when I moved in and deducted another $85 for chip in vanity in bathroom, which was there , when I moved in. I was told by woman , who gave me keys when I moved in 4 years , that mark it on sheet. Keep sheet, and present when moving out. Well I forgot to present sheet. I took pictures, but they argued(office) that needed to turn in sheet, after I was moved in after 10 days of living there. They also deducted more for dirty air intake for furnace. That is their job to service there furnace. I would not recommend this place to my worse enemy. Dealing with Bill Cosgrove is worse, he is nasty and mean to his tenants.

Upon signing the lease we found several issues with the apt:carpet filthy,Bathroom had burn marks on floor, poorly caulked toilets, mold on sink, loose ceiling fan, stove missing the hood.the siding on the patio became disconnected, month after reporting it,my sink backed up cuz of garbage disposal. A week later she told me to just not use my dishwasher, and that my patio siding had been fixed,i was watching it blow in the wind. I called Bill Cosgrove 419-810-9090 threatend to fix it myself, THATS when things got fixed. Then,I grab a bag from under kitchen sink and notice a horrible smell.i find a puddle of water, wet appliances one of which is my brand new fryer,in the box, completely soaked, moldy box. I call the leasing office the next morning, they tell me that i should have reported the issue sooner.I spoke with the owner, he became defensive and argumentative,He said even if we're at fault we're not responsible, thats what you have renters insurance for. The lease doesnt say this.
I had read the only other review, which was negative, before I moved in here. I had some trepidation after reading it, but from day one, I've only had positive experiences. The security has ALWAYS been kind and helpful, and knew my name after one day. The grounds are kept well by staff, and they have activities for the residents at all times if you choose to participate. The office staff has always been available and helpful. The laundry room prices are very low. It's at a great location; I have a view of the bridge by the river that pulsates with changing lights, plus the fireworks went off after the ballgame which I could see from my window. I've never had any negative experiences, but I am not combative and negative myself.
Welcome to Apartments by Elon! The cheapest management firm in the United States charging a premium for living in an outdated, run-down complex with multiple bad choices and zero upkeep.I've lived here for probably 3 years solely because of its location to my son's school and my parent's house (who watch my child while I'm working). My rent started at $580 ($100/off per month for a 12 month lease agreement) and rose to $700 after the first year, and again to $740 when I signed a new 12 month lease. Despite the photos of sagging walls, peeling wallpaper (from the 70s of course), rotted fence, and cheap broken molding, they deemed it appropriate to reward my loyalty by again raising my rent. When you factor in that we've had 4 different apartment managers (there was a long stretch of time we had no manager), and too many maintenance men to count, you'd think they could've at least rewarded those select few of us that stuck around.Bonus: Apartment is NOT in Ottawa Hills.
