Vrabic Car Center
After losing our old mechanic due to his passing away, being very loyal to his business for many many years we were hesitant and weary in looking for a new mechanic but our hand was forced. We found Vrabic's and seeing that his lot was always full of new business every day and they would quickly turn them out fixed and having stayed in business at the same location, we thought we would give them a try. I am glad I did. He was honest with me about the state of the vehicle and was over the top helpful in assisting me in finding a solution. They earned my trust immediately and now THEY are my only mechanic. I was lucky to find yet another kind, reasonable and honest mechanic to replace our long time family mechanic.

Vrabic Car Center
I never write reviews but I just had to for this place! I honestly could not be happier with this place! There costumer service, quality of work, and prices are just unbeatable!! I got my brakea replaced this summer at a Stephens Honda in Bloomington. My car was very shaky and i started hearing a weird noise whenever i used the brakes. I took it to Thompson Honda in Terre Haute and their prices were outrageous. I took my car to Vrabic and they were awesome. They were able to fix my car very quickly and for a much much cheaper price!! My car runs very smoothly now and there is no noise. I would highly recommend you take your vehicle to Vrabic! They are the best!

Adams Garage
Honest, exceptional automobile repair services are hard to find, but Adams Garage is the real deal! My young daughter needed to take the car out of town, but it had some serious and tricky problems that the computer wasn't recognizing. I was seriously worried about the car making it on the trip, and even wondered if the car was going to survive long at all. But Adams Garage quickly and efficiently diagnosed and fixed the problems, at a very reasonable price! Also, I was treated courteously by the friendly and knowledgeable staff, and everything was explained for me. They made me a loyal customer and I would highly recommend their services to anyone!

This shop is not what it was 10 years ago. At that time they were very trustworthy. We took our Accent in for a break problem for diagnosis, and they basically told us we could not have the car back until we paid them for $800+ for the repair. The car was worth about $1000, so according to them it was totaled out, and offered to buy the car for $500. THey were only supposed to diagnose. I am somewhat savy with auto repair, and found upon extensive and irritating discussion they were going to be doing some unnecessary work. So then the repairs were only $600. I paid and will never return.

Tips & Advices
Among the common scams pulled are needless repairs, where a garage charges you for work that isn't necessary. Another popular one is attracting customers through a cheap oil change or tire pressure check. Then, when you your car is being repaired, they give you a long list of other corrections they'd like to make, therefore boosting the total cost of your bill. The best way to combat these types of problems is getting a written estimate before work is done so you can see how much repairs are expected to cost. If the final bill is higher than the estimate projected, ask to specifically see the work. Make sure information is put in writing as well. If a problem remains, you can have proof that work was not done to your satisfaction.
For winter driving, features such as the defroster, heater and exhaust system are paramount. Look in your owner's manual for specific directions on how features should be checked and repaired. Many newer cars have a cabin air filter that can be replaced when needed, allowing warm air to continue to flow in. Also, check tires before winter driving, as they need to be at the proper pressure to perform well on snow and ice.
In the spring and summer, you want to be sure your air conditioner and cooling systems work correctly. Given the high temperatures, overheating is a common problem. Look over the system by ensuring there is enough coolant available. If it needs to be refilled, it is best to open the hood and add more to the car before it gets too warm out. Also, clean out fan ducts and other ventilation sources necessary for summertime driving.
Some fixes to your car can be done without paying a specialist. Issues like replacing oil and air filters are relatively simple, with instructions provided in the owner's manual on how to make these changes. The same goes for replacing broken windshield wipers or burnt-out headlights. Such issues should be repaired quickly to guarantee safety, but don't require a visit to a garage.
Yes. Not every type of auto repair work needs to be done by a certified mechanic. You can fix some of a vehicle's issues just by paying attention to how the automobile is running and having a basic understanding of auto repair. Look over the ways weather may impact your car and what preventative measures you can take to avoid having to take it into the shop.
