I like Dr. Evans. While my relationship failed, does not always mean Dr. Evans failed. Dr. Evans is there to only provide guidance but if one out of the two party is not willing to participate for the win of the relationship, it's on us. Don't blame the counselor because you want him to say what you want to hear. No relationship gets better through the counselor alone. Dr. Evans is definitely blunt, he doesn't sugar coat, he is honest. We're not there to hear nice things, we're there to hear the truth. It can be brutal at first with Dr. Evans but it gets better only if you apply his guidance. Eventhough my relationship ended, Dr. Evans continued to show me there is still a bright future out there. He particularly showed that he cared about my well being after my ex called the whole thing off. Dr. Evans counseled me and making sure my mental state was sound. I was no doubt devastated after the break up but Dr. Evans was there to build me back up. He did not hold my hands. It's not his way, it's not a bad way either. Through that I learned to deal with tougher times ahead, live in the present and look for positive side of things always. Everything can be taken from us except our choice to want to feel positive. Another thing, this counselor thinks about his patients even in his off hours. How he had handled them. He had came back to me on one session, told me while he was mowing the lawn, thought about my circumstances/family history and identified why I feel the way I feel which he couldn't see in the previous session. That says a lot about a counselor. He is dedicated, not afraid to admit fault. Even though my relationship didn't succeed, I learned to be a happier person through Dr. Evans. Like other folks mention, his method is not typical. But you have to have an open mind, open to changes, not afraid to ask him how and what he means...then he's the right guy for you. I think he is the best counselor I have seen. I have moved to another state and just couldn't find anyone as effective as him.

Westchase Colonics
I am undergoing treatment for Lyme disease and mold toxicity and my doctor requires me to have colonics several times a week; I have been to five colon therapists in the area and Missy is by far the best. She uses an infrared sauna before every colonic and it makes all the difference for me. After having 20+ colonics with little or no release I came to Missy skeptical, and during the treatment I asked if anything was coming out and she lifted the tube and it was completely black! Never before has someone gotten anything close to that out of me. She will sit with you for hours and discuss your health and she genuinely, truly cares about her clients and their health. She knows so much about food and supplements and has the sweetest personality, and her results are amazing and not comparable to any other colon therapist around.

Star Point Counseling Center
From the owners in response to Anonymous,I am very sorry Lael decided she wanted to work in the Brandon office after you saw her due to health reasons. Most of our therapists work out of both offices. The first session is more of an intake and information gathering session so the therapist can do a treatment plan. I do have compassion for all of our clients and what they are going through, severe depression and anxiety is not easy to deal with. I understand you did not want to drive 20 minutes to continue to see Lael and you did not want to see another therapist in our Hyde Park office. I am also sorry to say Lael has since retired due to a stroke. I would like to make this up to you with free counseling with my business partner and Clinical Director. Thank youSam

Remember That No One Ever Kicks a Dead DogWhen you are kicked and criticized, remember that it is often done because it gives the kicker a feeling of importance. It can often mean that you are accomplishing something and are worthy of attention. Many people get a sense of savage satisfaction out of denouncing another person. Unjust criticism is often disguised as a compliment. The more you try to pacify and to smooth over injured feelings in order to escape criticism, the more certain you are to increase your enemies. Some people are not looking to improve the quality of their lives, but to be right, control, and find gratification in tearing others down. Dale Carnegie, How to Enjoy Your Life and Your Job

Judith Ann Sachs
I left Judith Sachs office in a frame of mind that I had not been in for years. For the first time in as many years...I feel hopeful. She is kind and understanding, but issues strong self accountability. I recommend her to anyone who is lost within themselves.
