Expert Movers
Joseph and two of his guys helped me move a 3 bedroom about 50 miles. I had already packed all of my belongings and just needed them to move the heavy stuff. The booking process was easy and Jason reassured me on the phone, calling the day before to confirm. Come moving day, he sized up my place and gave me a "worst case scenario" estimate of 7 hours.Joseph and his team were hardworking and courteous throughout the whole process. They took great care with my property and also the premises. Joseph always made sure to point out previous damage to my stuff, and they disassembled and wrapped everything very carefully. All in all, it was a good move- I had my furniture reassembled and placed exactly where I wanted it in my new home and Joseph was intent on making sure I was happy. It took 6 hours from start to finish so I ended up paying the "do not exceed" value plus tips (plus lunch and snacks, but that's just courtesy for the backbreaking work these guys do). Some friends tell me that I must have been "slow rolled" considering we (4 friends/relatives) helped with the unloading and even ended up transporting a bunch of items/boxes in our cars, but I don't think so...You really do get what you pay for -- Expert movers may have caused some little damage to my wallet but there was none to my property!!! Thank you Joseph...

Best Rate Home Services
They were late but do to due to issues w/there truck (wasn't to disappointed by that). But the 2 guys that were there to move my stuff got in to a yelling match with EACH OTHER, I was no longer ok with the situation. To hear "B****" this and "B****" that , from to grown men who are supposed to be professionals and at my residence to do a job that I was PAYING for they were not very professional. If I didn't step in and remind them that I was paying for a service and not their childish behavior I think the situation may have gotten physical. I did call to make the company aware of the situation and a manager did show up and did remove the guy that seemed to be the issue. Things seemed to be fine. The only other down side was that my boxes marked “fragile” were found at the bottom of several stacks of boxes. Thank God nothing was broken! I honestly cannot say I would recommend this moving company to anyone and I am not a 100% sure that I would use them again.

Christos & Christos Moving & Storage
We were very happy with our experience with Christos and Christos Moving and would highly recommend them. One of the owners showed up in person and on time to give us an accurate estimate, while other movers just guessed over the phone which I wasn't comfortable with, as we have had past movers that underestimated the cost unless they saw how many books we have. He was professional, and later when we had to change the moving date the person that responded said it was no problem and was able to accommodate our new date even though it was over a holiday weekend. The movers themselves showed up on time, were fast, efficient, and pleasant, and completed in less time than was originally estimated, bringing us under expected cost. Thank you to Christos and Christos for your high quality service and taking the stress out of the huge and overwhelming job of moving.

The Movers Group
I had all of my stuff in a 'door to door moving a storage cube' (8x5x7). I had about 20 heavy boxes, a large dresser, night tables, and all sorts of random stuff. I decided to call and book up The Mover Group on a recommendation of a friend and the movers moved everything in and out super quickly. They were extremely friendly, careful, and a pleasure to work with. The sales team were very clear in setting up the appointment, confirming it, and making sure the experience was a class apart. After the job was done the amount due was less than the initial quote and since they completed it before time the amount reduced a little lower than the initial estimate for which I had to face a little inconvenience of going to my bank and ordering a separate cheque for them otherwise their service was not bad at all.

The Movers Group
These guys work their asses off to help you move.Seriously, they rocked up at 10 minutes before the move was scheduled, and packed up the truck with all of our belongings in a few short hours. They even carried my monolith of a bed (350lb) down one flight and up three flights of stairs, without marking any walls. No damage to speak of, no stains.... awesome. (ok, well, except for two wine glasses, which was entirely my fault for packing like a moron.)you know how sometimes movers kind of skeeve you out? Those guys who smell like they spent the night smoking cigarettes in a bottle of whiskey? Not these guys at all. Honest to goodness, hard working dudes, who worked their tails off for several hours to make our move go smoothly. They all even spoke english, which seems tough to find sometimes.

Gulf Coast Vanlines
No one really enjoys moving but I had a great moving experience with Gulf Coast Vanlines. I contacted them after a neighbor referred me and scheduled my move. I submitted a very reasonable deposit, selected the number of movers I wanted and was done. The day of my move, the movers arrived on time, were very professional and did a great job wrapping and/or securing our furniture and sensitive/delicate items. None of our furniture was damaged and they took good care with our pictures, artwork, etc. I felt the pricing was reasonable and straightforward and the movers were courteous, helpful and efficient. I would definitely use them again and would refer them to friends, family and co-workers. I'd rather chew glass than move, but if you have move, be sure to use Gulf Coast Vanlines.

Gulf Coast Vanlines
I had a very complex move at the end of August. I had about 2/3 of my belongings going from an apartment to a storage facility and the rest of my stuff needed to go to another apartment. I've moved frequently, and have had a wide spectrum of experiences with moving companies. My friend helped me research several companies for this move, and I finally decided on Gulf Coast Van Lines. I'm very happy that I did.Having moved way too many times over the past few years, I have to say that this was one of the most stressful and complicated moves that I had to deal with. Gulf Coast Van Lines was a great choice - they really came through and did a stellar job.I would highly recommend them to any friend or family member, and certainly plan to use them in the future when the need arises.

Gulf Coast Vanlines
Gulf Coast Van Lines did an outstanding job with my move from start to finish. This is the first time I've hired movers, and my experience with Gulf Coast could not have been more positive. My parents, who have moved many times, were with me for this move and were equally impressed, which says even more than my rookie review. They did an excellent job packing up the storage unit. I was a little concerned that the storage unit would be too small, but they got everything in, without sacrificing the safety and care of any of my things. It's clear that these guys really care about doing a good job, and I'm so appreciative of their work. I will definitely call Gulf Coast again when I move.

The Movers Group
Talk about a team effort, thank you Movers Group for the great job. A few weeks ago I moved from Michigan to Main, it was my first time using a moving service and I was skeptical after everything I heard about moving services but I was proved wrong. My agent Eden was friendly and helpful, she answered all my questions and gave me a great price on the move and the movers were just as great. They arrived on time disassembling and packing all of our things and when they arrived to our new home on time as well they reassembled everything and placed it in the house wherever we asked. They were friendly as well and pleasant to be around, thank you for all the hard work and dedication.
Tips & Advices
Yes, it’s best to empty drawers, wardrobes and chests before a move. Items always get knocked around a bit, and doors can fly open even if they’ve been taped. In fact, more often than not, movers will want to remove the drawers from a dresser--or disassemble the wardrobe to be more space-efficient.
Yes, it is customary to tip movers, but the amount varies widely. For full-service moves, a 5 percent tip is suggested, although, for extra service, some people go up to 10 percent . For small local movers, you can give each mover $10 for a few-hour job, or $20-$40 for jobs that take longer.
A bill of lading is the legal contract for the move. It provides a detailed receipt, in addition to a contract between the client and the mover. It authorizes the mover to transport the goods from one specific point to another, and it outlines the exact scope of services, with cost breakdown for those services. It also provides an itemized list of the inventory, and carrier liability protection for each declared item. Finally, it specifies the payment arrangement. Make sure to go over your itemized list extremely carefully before finalizing the paperwork--and get a copy of the full document. A good mover will go over everything on the bill of lading with the customer.
There are several items that moving companies will not move – those items will be listed on a document as “non-allowables.” These items typically fall in three categories: perishables, sentimental/personal items, and hazardous material. Perishables are food and plants. Sentimental/personal value is up to the client to decide, but usually includes jewelry, medical and dental records, personal paperwork, valuables and collectibles. Hazardous material is the tricky category, since it includes a lot of everyday items found in the garage, garden or kitchen. For example, cleaning liquids and pesticides both are considered non-allowable by many companies. Some go so far as to disallow nail polish and batteries.
A binding estimate means that the moving company cannot charge more than the stated amount, though they can lower the final bill if the scope of the job was smaller than expected. A non-binding moving estimate is more likely to wind up costing more than expected, since the movers can increase their rates for unforeseen variables like stairs, “long carry” and materials.
