A Little Moore Than Handy
Colby Moore is a criminal in disguise. He comes to your home and claims to be a handyman but is really just a sub-human moron with a toolkit. He was tasked with installing a shower after falsely claiming that there was water damage behind my old shower. Not only was his attempt to install the shower worse than my dead grandparents could do, he ran off with my money and threatened me afterward if I said anything to anyone. He destroyed my bathroom and stole $1600+ from me. NEVER pay someone up front. He's also a liar and IS NOT licensed or insured.Charges are currently being filed against him, BEWARE.Colby, if you read this, I didn't forget.

A Little Moore Than Handy
Colby Moore is a well spoken polite young man who captures enthusiasm for the job you envision. I found him last year when I wanted a garden shed built. His price seemed reasonable, but I had other expenses, (taxes) that prohibited me from hiring Colby for my shed at that time. This winter, I received a small inheritance from my mother's estate and called Colby again. He was again congenial and charming. He gave me a price of $4000 for the shed, ( just a garden shed for tools, hay fertilizer and such). I gave him $2000 for the first half, I thought, of the construction. After the first week, he and his work mate had racked up 22 hours at $25/HR each. That's $550. That Friday he asked for an additional $2000 for the "remainder of lumber" (I think) and some more labor. I knew better, but I trusted him. He was one of the good guys. The following Monday and Tuesday came and went with no Colby, no helper and no phone calls received or answered. After many texts and messages, he finally told me he couldn't finish the job for personal reasons. He did return $1500 of the second $2000 I fronted him.I had only a shed floor. Two licensed contractors told me $4000 would not cover the cost of materials for the shed I was building. The floor is 1" out of square. The center row of foundation posts are crooked. the joists are too small for the span and are not pressures treated. The plywood floor, which was supposed to be pressure teated is not. It has completely buckled after only two rains.I am including a picture, (maybe two if I can figure out the computer). If you want more photos to show a builder, e-me and I'll send all of the mess this man has made.I am sorry to do this to him and sorry for what he has done for me. He stole my mother's inheritance and my dream of her legacy.

Drop Cloth Painting & Services
They did an excellent job painting the inside of my house! Not only where they friendly but they got the job done quick. They made sure no paint got on the floors and made sure all tape and paper was cleaned up afterwards. The owner Garrett Treadway walked around with me at the beginning to discuss what colors would look best and the end result was beautiful!

Hopewell In-Home Senior Care
There is nothing more important than family, and there is nothing more honorable than taking care of those that raised and cared for you. Although anyone can relate to this, it really is hard to find the right care at the right expense. The staff is very friendly and you can see they are trained to properly care for others in a way that isn't systematic, but out of empathy and understanding.Brian Moran was very patient and friendly as well. He has a lot of passion for the caring of loved ones and understands what it takes to foster a culture of caretakers that serve from a position of love and compassion.

Tips & Advices
For a long-lasting paint job, a clean wall is crucial. Ask how they plan to clean your walls, if at all, before getting started. A high-quality company will thoroughly prepare a wall so that the paint will lay smoothly and last a long time.
Yes. A well-established company will have more experience and likely more references for you to reach out to than a new company that's just getting off the ground. Be sure to ask for references so you can speak to former customers about their experience working with the painter. When speaking to these people, ask about:
  • Whether they had issues with the crew
  • If the painters were messy or neat
  • How the paint has held up since the project was completed
The quality of the paint will affect how good the walls look when the project is completed. If your contractor says they plan on using a paint you don't like, feel free to request an alternative.
If the contractor makes a point to train new hires on safety techniques as well as quality standards on the job, you're probably in good hands.
Unfortunately, there are plenty of cases where a painter has stolen items from a home or caused damage to the house or injury to the homeowner. Subcontractors may not be as skilled as employees, and the contractor you're hiring may not have much experience working with them, making them more of a risk. Additionally, ask if the painters are employees or subcontractors, and what the screening or hiring process is like.

Just a moment...
