We went after the opera since it was less than a block away. We were ID'd and asked for what we wanted to drink in almost the same breath. The staff was very nice and the patrons were also; relaxed, arriving in groups or singles. It was very comfortable. You could be whoever or whatever you wanted to be. The crowd was extremely diverse in race, socioeconomic status, sexual preference, age, fashionability, and vocal talents. Some people excelled at karaoke and others... well...... maybe it was the stiff drinks...which ran about $5 each and they packed a meeeeean punch! Not a place to pick up, if that's your M.O.... it's just a neighborhood bar.

Great place for you and your date to go if you want to have a drink and listen to some live jazz. Not too crowded or loud and the employees are very laid back. =)

Latitude 84 is a great bar for pool and watching the game. They also have a good dance crowd later around midnight. Wednesday nights with Monopoly Ent and DJ Don Gee is the best night they have.

I look forward to the summer when I can go and walk Ruston Way for the evening then stop by the Spar for a cold Manny's afterward. I'v never eaten here so I can't review the food, but just by looking at people's plates the burgers look tasty. This is the perfect place to watch the sun set over the sound and hang with friends.
15.Engine House Brewery

Nicely located just off of 6th Ave. and Pine Street in Tacoma. They've updated the menu and have added an item or two in each section of the menu as well as having a lunch and dinner special of the day for all seven days of the week. I've never had anything but good service from the wait staff, and have gotten my meal in a timely manner. The burgers and salads are great, but I hear the Fish (Halibut) and Chips is awesome too. Also if you get there in the evening parking may be a premium, since there are a lot of other good restaurants in the area.\r I'd give this place a two thumbs up.

Great place to shoot pool. 7 regular 7 foot tables for quarters in the front, 3 premium 7 footers and 8 full size by the hour in the back. Many tournaments both on both size of tables. Usually enough shooters on the quarter tables on the weekends so you can find someone to play with. Full bar and well done bar food.

Everytime we stop here after a ride I ask myself what the big deal is about this place. Why do people go somewhere where the service is really really poor. First of all you have to order at the counter which takes forever, then you sit and wait too long to get served. Throw in rude help and you have the perfect bad experience. The food is OK--but not great. But what actually triggered this rant:\r \r I walked in today after a 20 mile ride. I wanted a breakfast sandwich to go and a latte. I had my bike with me. I also got the rudest waitress they have (based on several previous experiences) but what was to be done? First of all she ignores me for for a couple of minutes or three while she putters behind the counter. Then after this guy walks up to pay for his coffee she takes him ahead of me. Then she says--you can't bring that bike in here-I don't want to trip over it -like I was going to toss it behind the counter where she was (n't) working. Biting my tongue I placed my order and she says--I can't do it til I get the desserts out. At this point I tossed a day old roll on the counter to make it easy on her. I walked out with nothing I wanted and really irked! \r Rude girl: get a job that doesn't involve human interaction\r Owners: take a sneak peek now and then and see what's going on up front

Really wonderful staff; Eric, Matt and Linda among others, go out of their way to make you feel welcome and at home. Excellent food, atmosphere, music, ongoing trivia games, sports and of course a huge selection of ale and spirits. Their house cabernet is terrific. My husband and I enjoy having a casual dinner and drinks, then walking across the parking lot to see a movie at the new Galaxy theater. Recommend the Baja Burger (Lots of Jalapenos) or Calamari with the best onion rings in Washington state

Get there early if you want a table for the games! The food here is excellent, I like to order a smorgous board of appetizers. In years gone bye they have had 25c hotwings for the games, this year they have been replaced with ""boneless wings"". These are alright, but not as good as the traditional ""bone in"" wings. You can't go wrong with the popcorn shrimp for $2.99! They give away raffle tickets and disburse all kinds of promo schwag during the commercials & halftime. The waitresses are, for the most part, happy and efficient. TVs are everywhere and there are enough to have other events on without taking away from the main event. Just a great neighborhood bar for hanging out with friends and watching the game.
