Eric Ridenour attempted to charge me over four and a half times the agreed upon amount in a civil case. Judge ruled against him. I filed a complaint with the NC State Bar and he was reprimanded. He then filed two more cases against me (Gene C. Couch Jr. v. David E. Bradley) and lost both.
They're awesome at explaining things to people that can't lawyer. Also, this is a great law firm and they deserve every star they get.
Michele handled a very difficult transaction for me. She was completely professional, kept me updated, and expedited the closing. I would highly recommend her services to anyone.
I have secured Michele Smith for both estate planning, and real estate related assistance. I was super impressed with her level of detail, courtesy and professionalism. I have referred many friends to her that share the same sentiments. Would HIGHLY recommend Michele and her firm.
Michele and her staff provided excellent services for my new business incorporation, and also restructured an existing business to better protect us. They also made a business loan closing seamless! I highly recommend this firm.
Mrs. Smith is the attorney for the Town of Webster. She is always prompt, prepared, and knowledgeable about all areas of the law. She is also polite and a team player. We're lucky to have her representing us.
I wrote a review stating that Frank Lay promptly returned what was left of my deceased father's retainer, and I can't recall the password to the account that I used in order to delete the review. I had just gotten off the phone with Frank Lay and had been assured that he would refund the money, so believing that he would follow through, wrote the previous review. I just wanted to clarify that it's been 9 months now and I haven't seen a dime, nor have I been able to get in touch with Mr. Lay. He doesn't return phone calls or reply to text messages/emails. I've called his office numerous times to try and schedule an appointment to speak with him, but his assistants always take down my number and I haven't once received a call back. No one will make an appointment for me or set up a time for a phone conference
Frank was there for my father when it mattered most. He was responsive and supportive even after my dad passed away, and gave legal advice beyond the area of law he was paid for. He made sure to do all he could to help and make good on my fathers legal needs. He fairly returned the money my father paid him when his services were no longer possible, and when many attorneys would have made the death of client harder to handle for the family, Frank Lay's office treated us like family.
I set up a meeting through Ms Smith's paralegal for 7 days ahead. I sent documents for Smith's perusal 6 days in advance. When I arrived, she had not read the documents and had no idea why I was there. She briefly looked through one document and offered off the cuff legal advice, but had no idea of my other concerns that were detailed in the unread papers. Her paralegal stated that the initial consult would be $75, but I was charged the full hourly rate of $250. I should have walked out when I saw that she was unprepared.
I hired Frank Lay to do something for me Jan of 2011 and I am still waiting for him to actually do it June of 2014. I cant get him to keep a phone conference or return my calls he is extremely unprofessional. Take my advice and keep on looking you wont find the representation you are looking for here at Frank Lay's office believe me I learned the hard way.
- You need to ask questions about how the attorney will communicate with you and what responsibilities you hold in the relationship.
- The attorney should let you know the best channel for quick communication and you need to inform him or her when you want updates.
- You should also ask questions to get to know the attorney as an individual in order to ensure this is a person you can trust. Ask about their legal philosophy and how he or she views the lawyer/client relationship. Ask as how to keep fees down or what daily disruptions you should expect from a long legal battle.
