Flaherty's Kenpo Karate
I have been a student at Flaherty’s Kenpo Karate for several years, eventually earning my Black Belt and the title of Instructor. Throughout the years I have had the opportunity of witnessing firsthand the remarkable level of instruction from the Grandmaster himself, his dedication to the students, and the great amount of discipline and respect shared by all present at the Academy – Instructors, adult students, kids, and parents. The training is top-notch; I have seen many kids who started as shy new students – some of them having experienced bullying before - gain confidence and respect for themselves as well as others as their training progressed. Some of the kids have been part of the Academy for years, with their families eventually enrolling their siblings as they get old enough to train. One family has currently four of their children training at the Academy, enrolled one at the time throughout the past eight years. As an Instructor myself, I talk to the parents and ask them for feedback, and their response is consistent: this is a Martial Arts school that is simply great for kids, informative and fun. Adult students also benefit from the vast knowledge and experienced advice offered by the Grandmaster, as well as from the various other Black Belt Instructors who have been trained directly under his supervision. If what you are looking for is a reputable Martial Arts School with experienced, knowledgeable, and fun instruction, I definitely recommend Flaherty’s Kenpo Karate Academy.

Flaherty's Kenpo Karate
Outstanding school! Adorned with the many accolades of Grandmaster Flaherty and his associates, this facility is top-notch. The studio is both bright and clean, and welcomes anyone wishing to learn from one of the best practitioners in the martial arts community.Grandmaster Flaherty, and his staff of black belt instructors do an excellent job of creating an environment that makes learning martial arts fun and enjoyable.I have been training now for about 7 months, and am rising through the ranks, thanks to their eagerness to teach, willingness to help, and patience to guide. Everyone is so friendly that as soon as you walk through the doors to join, you immediately feel like part of the FKKA family. If good quality instruction, in a friendly, professional atmosphere is what you’re looking for, I invite you to the perfect place, Flaherty’s Kenpo Karate.

New School Aikido
Take off your shoes -- it's PLAYTIME! This is, beyond all doubt, one of Stockton's truest treasures. Not just the dojo itself which has two large training areas and an awesome atmosphere, but the staff, senseis and fellow students. Aikido is not just a martial art but a philosophy, an understanding, an energy flow, a lifestyle and a gateway to a new quality of life, relationships and conflict resolution, and New School brings it all to the mat with affordable lessons for all ages and people you can trust. If you are looking for a family-friendly dojo with great people who are like family and do this primarily as a labor of love, look no further. Whether you are new to Aikido or a seasoned black belt, you'll find a home with New School. Come be part of positive change in Stockton!

Koryo Taekwondo Academy
This is the best Taekwondo place in Stockton. I actually went here for a little while. I checked out the other Taekwondo place down pacific and harding, but they were all about money, eagerly trying to get you in the door to rip you off. Not this place, here even though they have a yearly contract, the price is fair and they don't try to make you sign up. I was paying only $90 a month. They also respect when you leave and don't try to squeeze more money out of you by making you sign up for a new contract. They let you decide wheather you would like to persue TKD or not. I only left because there was mostly little kids and not enough adults. I didn't like to belt test with all the parents of the little kids watching me :) it made me feel stupid, but that my own insicurity.

Flaherty's Kenpo Karate
The best instruction I have received at a fair and noble price. The instruction has a pleasant and distinct style of teaching that ensues the student to try and try again until they get a set, form, or technique memorized correctly along with the instructor's patience and understanding. The knowledge that is given to us students is a lesson that is well taught, and later well learned.

Flaherty's Kenpo Karate
Master Flaherty is a outstanding instructor. He taught me and my children. I am so glad to say that I have met and learned from him. He taught in a way that was easy for us starting out and gave us more challenges as time went on. He definitely built our family's self confidence, strength, and respect for one another. Thank you Master Flaherty for all you did for us.
