We had my mother's funeral luncheon at Picano's April 8, 2017. It was perfect. During the planning stages they were always accommodating regardless of my many phone calls, visits and questions. I even switched back and forth between banquet rooms--not knowing how many guests would attend. I usually worked with Theresa, but I think I spoke with all staff at one time or another. I told Theresa I think we'd have about 57 guests but the day of we had 71 show up! I was mortified--but Theresa calmly worked with staff adding tables and within 10 minutes everyone was seated. Magical! The 5 course meal was perfect, many servers, plenty of food and beverage. I'm sure my mother is smiling! Thanks Picano's!

One of your waiters can up and punched my mom in the face in front of everyone. But the food was good.

I ate the crab cakes and also had the biscuits which went down nicely but shortly after eating them I pooped my pants. They tasted great I must say. The waitress treated me well even though it smelled really bad. I could've left but I had already ordered.

9.Joe Bologna's Trattoria
2135 17 Mile Rd
This place has been around 20 years, for good reason, but its even better now. New menu - same reasonable prices but fewer and better selections; new look - warm welcoming bar space cut down, but warm, welcoming dining area expanded with more of the old-style church pew booths for privacy and comfort. The best thing is the food, served fresh and hot, and that's a change from before. Great marinara and bolognese sauces for the bubbly baked lasagna and casalinga. Oodles of garlic for the chicken capellini trattoria, fresh vegetables and bread, etc. The table next to ours had the only steak dish on the menu and was raving about it. Very local, very homey, but top notch too. Reasonably priced wine list and friendly, attentive service. The old take out area is still there too, but I recommend a relaxing sit-down inside for full enjoyment of what this place offers.
10.Villa Italian Kitchen
14600 Lakeside Cir Unit 2360
Come to Villa Italian Kitchen at 14600 Lakeside Circle, Stirling Heights, MI for a delicious Italian meal. Villa Italian Kitchen was founded with one store, one family and one concept in 1964, when our founder, Michele “Michael” Scotto brought his authentic old-world recipes from Naples, Italy to New York City. Michele’s commitment to hospitality, quality ingredients, like homemade dough, 100% whole milk mozzarella and fresh sauce and the strict loyalty to those now famous recipes, built the business. From that first Villa Pizza that opened in 1964, next to the CBS/Ed Sullivan Theater on Broadway, to nearly 300 Villa Italian Kitchen restaurants later, our commitment to quality and genuine hospitality remains the basis of our foundation. In 2014, Villa Italian Kitchen and its parent company Villa Restaurant Group celebrated its 50th Anniversary. Today, Villa is under the leadership of Michele’s two sons Biagio “Ben” Scotto and Anthony Scotto. Together, they continue the vision and passion of their father extending the genuine hospitality inspired by their father.

13.Juliano's Banquets, Catering & Restaurant
27380 Van Dyke Ave
I recently enjoyed the delicious food this wonderful restaurant has to offer. I was greeted by a delightful young woman named Shelby, and I was helped by two waitresses - Megan and Sarah. Sarah started my table, as Megan was briefly engaged with a departing table. My wife and I shared a salad and a pizza, and we loved every bite of it. I have told my friends and family what a lovely establishment Juliano's is, and I plan on dining there again soon.

Winner's Choice. As someone who does not like a lot of garlic, I initially had a problem choosing from the menu. I mentioned my dilemma to my waitress Val who brought out Chief Michael. Since it wasn't quite rush hour, they had a little time to help me out. I finally selected ""Mama's Lasagna"". Man, was that good! This was one of the best meals I have ever eaten. The atmosphere was charming, the staff was friendly and the food was incredibly good. You feel like you are in a big city restaurant.
19.Loccino Italian Grill and Bar

We had a funeral luncheon here and everyone raved about the food. Chicken Piccata and mostaccoli. WONDERFUL. We were at White Chapel Cemetery.and wanted a place close by. The staff was right on top of things and were able to anticipate our needs before we asked.. Great place for a birthday party, bridal shower or retirement part. We will definitely return for dinner!
1650 E 12 Mile Rd
Not fancy or pretentious, just a friendly little neighborhood (small-chain) Italian restaurant. Way way better than Olive Garden, I hate to say it, but their food is even better than Andiamo. You get the same food, same quality, and same portions as at the pricey places, just for a few bucks less at Salvatore Scallopini's. Great home-style Italian dishes. The house dressing is super garlicky and awesome. Bread is great. Ate there last night and had the Chicken Caccatore, always good! They can create a special order too, just ask. Very friendly, simple, and affordable.
39091 Garfield Rd
fabulous food and drinks!
22.Aurelio's Italian Grill
43080 Garfield Rd
This restaurant TRULY DESERVES A 5 STAR RATING. From the quality of the food to the beautiful presentations of his dishes. He is TRUE ARTIST when it comes to the presentation of the dish!!!! When your food is brought to your table, take a picture of it first because it's just too beautiful not to. It's almost too pretty that you don't want to eat it. But it so delicious, you can't wait to sink your teeth into it. This restaurant delivers a High End, Fine Dining experience, with Family Dining prices in mind, no lie!!! They recently redecorated it and it is just beautiful. The atmosphere is so calming that it makes you forget there's a world just outside the door. My husband and I just celebrated our 7th anniversary there and the mural on the back wall was so beautiful, it has inspired us to take a trip to Italy within the next 5 years!!! Aurillio and his wife Linda, are the nicest, most charming people you can possibly meet. They both take the time and interest to come and chat with you while your waiting for your food or after your done. The waitstaff is equally exceptional. My husband and I feel honored to be included in their circle of friends!!!! We HIGHLY recommend this restaurant for EVERYONE who wants to feel like they're eating in an expensive restaurant but doesn't have to pay the expensive price. And for you lovers, it's the perfect place to go, for a romantic, intimate dinner, but go at night because it just exemplifies the romantic atmosphere. Did they impress me??? What do you think??? Re cathym6777 : Maybe your just not use to QUALITY, fine dining food and are used to eating mediocre made Alfredo. Also, I find it VERY unlikely that the waitstaff said, what you said they did. They are professional in every way, at what they do. I know these people very well, and I worked for them for a short time as well, and the manager would never have let you leave without compensating you for your displeasure. Enlighten your taste buds and try it a second time, and if your still dissatisfied, ask to speak with Aurillio himself. I'm sure things will be done to your satisfaction!
23.Buca di Beppo

If you are looking for a good authentic italian meal, this is the place to be. The food is absolutely delicious!!! My favorite is the chicken parmesan. They give you big portions (family style) that you will have left-overs to take home. The service is fantastic. Servers are all very friendly and pleasant. This place gets two thumbs up all around!! Be sure to check in the paper or circulars for $10 off coupon.

Yesterday afternoon 4-18-14 we had our 2nd visit here in a week, post fire-remodel. What a delight to walk in at 2pm & be seated by Chef Jeff himself, as he just happened to be near the door. He sat us & we chatted with him about how GORGEOUS the new decor is. We sat right in the middle of the dining room, which was perfect to take in the open kitchen, murals & famous quotes stenciled here & there. Whoever did the redesign was spot on with the colors- seating -flooring- fixtures. One cool thing for the gals is they placed a purse hook under the table so, you do not have to lay it on the floor. Thomas was our server & he truly did a very nice job. We both started with cups of soup, the bride had the butternut squash & I had the loaded potato . I really liked my soup a lot..but the aroma of the butternut squash was more than intoxicating . .so she offered me some..and I was I don't know..well I indulged & it was FABULOUS!..now I was coveting it and was wanting to bail on my loaded potato. .but I will just have get it next time. It just tasted like a melted sweet potato..oh man oh man! She ordered the sandwich soup combo with a grilled turkey wrap, which had avocados , bacon and all that, it was perfect. $12 Last time here I enjoyed the batter on the boom boom shrimp & thought the fish & chips would be a nice change of pace. The presentation alone makes it worthy of a re-order. It came in a 1/2 deep fry basket, with 2 generous pieces of light fluffy, Not greasy fish & a host of hand cut natural fries, plus a nice little container of house made tartar & ketchup. $13 Oh and the bread basket...many will say if a place cant do bread right.. Well the rolls here are made in house, cooked to perfection ,plus the bread basket includes some crispy flatbreads & a dish of flavorful pesto. I'd also recommend trying the Chef Jeff's Zip sauce on the table & buy a bottle for at home. Sign up for there plastic card rewards program & get offers throughout the year. Thankful for the gift card from a dear friend .. and plotting a return..soon!
