Maplecrest Urgent Care
Dr. Kashat charged me $225 to remove a splinter. No joke, no exaggeration. Zero flexibility or empathy from office staff. When I went to office to complain, I was told "All I do is take the money. If you're not happy, call your insurance company" (Blue Cross/Blue Shield). Removing the splinter wasn't even the purpose of my visit. Dr. Kashat called me in to tell me I have slightly high cholesterol, then asked if there was anything he could do for me while I'm here.

Macomb Medical Clinic PC
Yesterday was my 2nd appointment for the weight loss program at Macomb Medical Clinic and the way the female Physician Assistant treated me left a bad taste in my mouth. This was in contrast to my experience during my initial visit to the clinic a few months ago. During the first visit, Dr. Rosenberg treated me with respect and handled the consultation in a professional manner. For whatever reason, this female Physician Assistant acted like she was pissed at me and treated me with disdain, even though I’ve never met her before and don’t know her from Adam. She barely spoke 2 sentences to me but was only interested in how I found out about their diet program. When I tried to ask her a couple of questions pertaining to my experiences with the prescribed medications, she responded with derision and shut me down. She didn’t even have the courtesy to inform me of what kind of injection she gave to me though I guessed it was probably Vitamin B12.Can you believe that after this woman finished administering the injection on my shoulder, she didn’t deem it fit to apply a Band-Aid to the puncture point despite the evident bleeding? She just glared at me and told me to keep waiting in the consultation room. At first, I assumed she would be coming back to administer another injection and thereafter attend to the bleeding but I was dead wrong. After waiting for about 20 minutes, a nurse or medical assistant (not sure of her role) came to tell me I was done and should head to the reception to pay and pick up my medications. When I showed her my bleeding upper arm, she was kind enough to apply to apply a Band-Aid to it – Thank You!I’m not sure if this female Physician Assistant is just incompetent or was disgusted by the color of my skin (I’m black), but it doesn’t really matter. I will never step inside that clinic AGAIN!!!

Dr. Mark N. Berkowitz - Accents Cosmetic Surgery and Medical Spa
The entire staff has been very pleasant and professional from the surgery consultant (Fran) to in patient (Jessica) to prep (2 Sherries and Donna); the Anesthesiologist, the Nurse and of course Dr. Berkowitz's expertise, I felt in very capable hands and was very comfortable with the whole procedure. The pre and post operation instructions are impressive as well and (Josh) has been very attentive. I will highly recommend you to anyone else seeking services and you will be my first choice for anything else I might decide. Most importantly let me add that I am extremely pleased with the results!

Schoenherr Parkway Family Practice
Surprisingly rude, indifferent and apathetic office staff. When I addressed it, staff simply had Doc sign a form letter ending my care. Doc himself never bothered to speak to me about it. Draw your own conclusions.

Dr. Mark N. Berkowitz - Accents Cosmetic Surgery and Medical Spa
I took Accents' recommendation for Bellafill to make a more youthful appearance. Dr. B and Josh were patient and careful to keep pain to a minimum - in fact, the pain of the injections was almost absent. At a month in, the experts here are happy with results and so am I. This is my second procedure at Accents, the first was Dr. B's mini-facelift in the surgical center. Those results were also very satisfactory.

Dr. Mark N. Berkowitz - Accents Cosmetic Surgery and Medical Spa
I was treated by Josh for Coolsculpting but interacted with Dr Berkowitz as well during my visit and I must say the entire atmosphere in combination with the staff is so down to earth and inviting that I cannot imagine going anywhere else for my aesthetic treatments!

Dr. Mark N. Berkowitz - Accents Cosmetic Surgery and Medical Spa
Dr. Berkowitz was very informative before making my decision for my procedure. The results were exactly as he described. Bruising and swelling were not nearly as bad as I expected. I would recommend Dr. Berkowitz for any and all procedures and will continue to come to him for future procedures.

Dr. Mark N. Berkowitz - Accents Cosmetic Surgery and Medical Spa
I am very pleased with my results so far with the Coolsculpting procedure. It has only even 2 months and already my jeans are fitting better. I used to have the fat hang over the top of my jeans but I slowly see that getting better. I cannot wait to see my final result! I was very happy with the staff as well. Curtious and professional.
Tips & Advices
An osteopathic physician practices a comprehensive form of medicine that takes a holistic approach to a person's health. Instead of specializing in one system or set of organs, an osteopathic specialist focuses on the health of the total body. This includes evaluating environmental factors that affect a person's well-being.
Many family doctors deliver babies, especially in rural areas without a nearby OB/GYN. However, most family doctors only deliver for low-risk pregnancies and do not perform cesarean sections.
Family nurse practitioners are highly educated nurses able to provide medical care individually or with the assistance of another professional. Family nurse practitioners obtain a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and then take the National Council Licensure Examination to begin working as a registered nurse. Then, they continue their education and obtain a Master of Science in Nursing. Following that, they become certified in family practice via the American Nurses Credentialing Center of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, allowing them to become certified family nurse practitioners.
Some family doctors provide immunizations while others do not. Typically, doctors who work as part of a large practice are more likely to offer vaccines in-house. Doctors in offices of one to two physicians are more likely to refer patients to a public health department or other immunization provider.
A physician's assistant is a person qualified to perform routine medical services. This individual is professionally licensed and certified, but they may not have the extensive med school education of a doctor. That said, PAs do complete almost three years of postgraduate study and more than 2,000 hours of rotations.
