RR Plumbing Roto-Rooter
Overall a positive experience. I originally called on a Friday night for my toilet to be repaired. I was told a plumber would be at my apartment between 8pm and midnight. Around 11:30pm, I received a call telling me it was more likely that someone would be there by 1am or 2am. I decided to move my appointment to 8am-10am. I was called at 8:30am and informed my plumber would be there in 30 minutes. He arrived around 9:45. I was a little annoyed by the fact they would not give you a quote over the phone. The plumber had a set price list. I knew what service needed to be performed (snaking the toilet) but I was told they would not give me a quote over the phone. Once the plumber came and told me snaking costs $350, what was I supposed to do? Go shop around? It seems like a very non-transparent business practice. Their prices are also insanely high. While I was happy with their service, I will likely try and find a local plumber who can do the same services for half the cost.

RR Plumbing Roto-Rooter
Glen, my Roto Rooter technician, came promptly as indicated. He told me exactly what needed to be done in order to clear up the severe clog in my upstairs bathroom sink. He took his time to ensure the job was done correctly. I am very pleased with the work and will use no one but the professionals of Roto Rooter.

My drain was clean up in one and half hour after my phone call on late Friday evening, I know from personal experience how hard to find any available plumber at this time just for clean up toilet pipe this easy problem for the plumbing, but dirty and nobody wants to do it. The service is fast, effective, professional, has guranty for next 6 month, but expensive.

My plumber arrived in an hour and was informative and laid out my options. While I may still need more plumbing work done, Roto-Rooter took care of my immediate problem. I would definitely recommend their service.

RR Plumbing Roto-Rooter
I live in an old building built in the 1920s, with old pipes, and I had a severe drainage problem in my bathroom tub. Two Roto-Rooter plumbers came, and I observed how they took time to carefully diagnose the problem. They worked diligently and efficiently and were friendly and professional. I highly recommend.

It was partially fixed. Now I don't have cold water in my bath on the first floor. According to the plumber some rubber dropped into pipe and stuck the water. Now I got a real problem

RR Plumbing Roto-Rooter
We had a major drain blockage in the pipe from our kitchen sink, and it just did not want to open. We were getting very worried we might have to go to the trouble and expense of opening the wall. However, John, our plumber, would not give up, and he worked and worked with the snake until he finally got it open. He patiently explained every different thing he was trying so we knew exactly what was going on. After it was open he gave us a number of helpful tips for our kitchen and washer drains to avoid it happening again. He couldn't have been nicer, or more helpful.

Tips & Advices
  • Are you licensed and registered?
  • Are you insured and bonded?
  • How many years have you been in business?
  • What, if any, professional associations do you belong to?
  • May I have a list of references?
  • Do you offer a written warranty for your work?
  • Will I need a permit for this work?
It is important to have a written warranty for any work or repairs done to the plumbing in your house, especially if it is a major repair. Look for a professional  who is willing to  stand by his or her work.
Before you hire a plumber, contact their past customers if you're able to. These people can be a wealth of information if you ask them the right questions. Pose the following queries to these former patrons when you get the chance:
  • Were you pleased with the work done?
  • Was the project completed on time?
  • Did the plumber give you a written warranty and guarantee his or her work?
  • Were there any unexpected costs that arose?
  • Would you hire this plumber again? If not, why?
A permit provides added assurance that the work is done correctly. Having this in place means an inspector will check the work your contractor or plumber does to ensure he or she did the job correctly. If you plan on putting your house or commercial building on the market, a real estate agent and prospective buyers will want to check any large work you did to make sure it was done properly.
A trustworthy plumber will have both commercial liability insurance as well as be bonded. The insurance and the bond protects the plumber from paying for any damages made to your house out of pocket. Having professionals that carry both of these policies can protect all of you from any mishaps that could occur while they work on your building.
