Staten Island Plumbing, Heating, & Air Conditioning
I can't believe I had to call twice in one week to unclog my shower. The first time I called a handy man and I don't know what he did, it seemed to be working and in 2 days I had to call again. I decided to use a more professional service so I looked for a company that would guarantee the work. I found Staten Island Plumbing which are conveniently close to my home and were able to come the same day. They just needed a couple of minutes to unclog the drain so they squeezed me in between jobs. The plumber came on time and did a splendid job with the shower. Said that the other plumber should have gave it a couple of minutes more and it wouldn't have clogged so fast. I am very happy with the responsiveness from this company and also the prices which are very cheap.

I had a leak a few weeks ago in my kitchen and I was devastated as I really couldn’t afford a big bill. I have used plumbers in the past but have always found them to be expensive and unreliable. I called Staten Island Plumbing on the recommendation from a friend who like me is in her twilight years and she said that Staten Island Plumbing were polite, reliable and most of all upfront with the cost and always try and find the best alternative. I called them out and although I was apprehensive I soon realized my friend was right, the plumber who came was a very nice man, obviously very experienced as he found the leak immediately and had it fixed in no time, and I can say that the bill was more than reasonable. I will only use this company from now on!

RR Plumbing Roto-Rooter
We had a major drain blockage in the pipe from our kitchen sink, and it just did not want to open. We were getting very worried we might have to go to the trouble and expense of opening the wall. However, John, our plumber, would not give up, and he worked and worked with the snake until he finally got it open. He patiently explained every different thing he was trying so we knew exactly what was going on. After it was open he gave us a number of helpful tips for our kitchen and washer drains to avoid it happening again. He couldn't have been nicer, or more helpful.

Tips & Advices
Before you hire a plumber, contact their past customers if you're able to. These people can be a wealth of information if you ask them the right questions. Pose the following queries to these former patrons when you get the chance:
  • Were you pleased with the work done?
  • Was the project completed on time?
  • Did the plumber give you a written warranty and guarantee his or her work?
  • Were there any unexpected costs that arose?
  • Would you hire this plumber again? If not, why?
A permit provides added assurance that the work is done correctly. Having this in place means an inspector will check the work your contractor or plumber does to ensure he or she did the job correctly. If you plan on putting your house or commercial building on the market, a real estate agent and prospective buyers will want to check any large work you did to make sure it was done properly.
A trustworthy plumber will have both commercial liability insurance as well as be bonded. The insurance and the bond protects the plumber from paying for any damages made to your house out of pocket. Having professionals that carry both of these policies can protect all of you from any mishaps that could occur while they work on your building.
  • Before calling a plumber, try to unclog your drains and toilets yourself by using a plunger.
  • Make sure you use a standard bell-shaped plunger for your sink and shower drains and a plunger with a flanged end for your toilets.
  • If neither type can loosen the pipe blockage, put a plumber's snake to use.
  • Ratchet the snake down the pipe to eliminate any clogs.
Usually, a leaky or dripping faucet is an easy fix that can be done by anyone who is even slightly handy with tools.. To fix it, first shut off the water under the sink then remove any decorative parts of the faucet and replace the washer and O-ring before reassembling everything.

Just a moment...
