I would not go here if i didn't have to... the customer service in the checkout area is horrendous. They NEVER have enough cashiers, it seems like they PURPOSELY want long lines - I can't imagine why though. No matter what the day or time, there are more CLOSED registers than open ones! I can only imagine it's to try and save $. But it has the opposite effect. For instance, I ONLY go there to buy THREE (3) items I can't get anyplace else. The minute I can - I won't step foot in there again.I have found that the staff - in the store - are generally helpful and friendly. Many of the cashiers (albeit not all) are rude and just plain nasty. The mgrs. are no better - at times WORSE!!! I wish somebody in upper mgmt. would read this and do something about it - they are pushing business away for stupid and avoidable reasons. And like the other reviewer pointed out - it is a bit of a rough clientele. I don't send my wife there alone. I too have not seen anything bad happen, but there's a strong 'element' you'd want to be aware of - in fact, you can't miss it. If you need to go here - as I do at times - I suggest that you just get in and get out and hope you don't have a problem and need a mgr.. And don't be in a rush - it'll take you more time to check out than to do your whole shopping. Very sad.
I used to love going into this store until today, when I was discriminated by the people who work there. I am a middle aged Caucasian mom who came in there with her 12 year old son. I and another Caucasian woman were waiting for someone to help us at the food counter. No one was behind the counter. I asked several employees who all claimed someone else was in charge of that section. I got tired of waiting and decided to step behind the counter to help myself. I needed to get back home to feed my child. Waiting 15 minutes was more than enough time, especially since no one seemed motivated enough to help. Finally, a young lady hesitantly helped me and when I got on the check out line, the cashier immediately placed a "closed' sign on the conveyer belt. I, then, waited on another line and when my son and I looked over, all of a sudden there were several employees behind the food counter helping Asian customers. I threw down the items I planned on purchasing and stormed out of the store. Shame on this store for discriminating against a non-Asian customer, who up until this time was a regular for several years. Will never go back again and plan on spreading the word about how shameful this store's practices are.
