Levin, Alexander
I've been going to this dentist since I was much younger and my parents have gone there for years, as well. Both dentists are great people who always make sure to have my needs in mind when working on my teeth. They give really good prices in comparison to other dentists that we've tried out. If you're looking for a local, more personal dentist- these people are perfect. Some dentists have such big offices and many employees that they don't take your needs into consideration. It is not the case here. Every time I go there, the patients are all happy with the service and the dentists act as if they're your friends and have known you their whole life. These dentists have multiple businesses and a lot of their patients are people who routinely come back to them so you know that says something about their service. I will definitely be sticking with Dr. Levin and Dr. Parra-Levin for as long as they're in practice and I will surely recommend this to my friends and family. (Even though I have before and they've been happy with their service)

Dr. Stanislav Golyand
If I could double the amount of stars that I can rate Dr. Golyand with I would ten times over. I went to this dentist with very little hope left for the problems that I had with my teeth. My over whelming fear of dentists and not taking the right care of my teeth left me in a pretty bad position. I have been seeing Dr. Golyand for about a year and he has done amazing work on my teeth and has saved my teeth. He is straight forward when necessary but is patient when I need him to be. He has helped me over come my crippling fear of dentists, and although my visits had minimal pain I am over my fear and on my way to a great pain free smile again. His work is impeccable, his office is immaculate and his staff is beyond exceptional. I wish I would have found him years ago. His professionalism is outstanding and the wait time in the office is minimal and again I cannot emphasize enough of how phenomenal his work is. I cannot thank you enough Dr. Golyand!!!

Savarino, Daniel S, MD
I had a 100% positive experience at Dr. Savarino's office. The facility is beautiful and modern, with great parking lot (plenty of spaces). Each exam room contains a computer, and the X-Ray equipment is state-of-the-art. The technicians and receptionists are extremely courteous, kind, and friendly. I called for an appointment after straining my knee, and was able to get one the next day! The receptionist encouraged me to call back, and tried very hard to fit me in that day!!! Dr. Savarino is just wonderful- gave me great information with several treatment options for my knee. His bedside manner is fabulous- he is kind, caring, knowledgeable, and friendly. I did not have to wait at all for my appointment! Oh, did I mention that there is a machine in the lobby which provides patients with free Starbucks coffee?! I will always go to Dr. Savarino from now on, if I have any further problems!! Wonderful experience!

Between all my doctor, they saved my life. Staten Island Radiation Oncology provided my radiation treatment for my stage 3a cancer, a rather large cancerous growth. Have to admit it was a bit rough at the end of treatment ( actually really rough), as to the temporary side effects , but considering my life was at stake there was not much choice. I just had a surgeon, Dr Ky at Mt Sinai perform a biopsy and Laparoscopy 3 1/2 month after treatment. Dr Ky stated the biopsy was negative, and though she loves doing surgery, there was nothing to operate on, not even scar tissue. Highly recommend Staten Island Radiation Oncology. Dr lee runs the place, very smart, takes time to explain things, rest the staff is conscientious, really good people. Word to the wise, you need radiation treatment close by, the side effects negate having treatment more than an hour away.

I was scheduled for a 10:30 appt. another patient comes in scheduled with a 10:30 appt. with the same doctor it is now 11:20, I asked the receptionist at the front desk when was I going to be seen he checks comes back and tells me your next puts me in a room it is now 11:55, I decide to get up and see ,where was my doctor and to my disbelief, she is now in a room with another patient that was in the waiting area, who had came in after me and the other patient. I tell the receptionist what is going on and he tells me your next how pathetic that sounds coming from a receptionist. I like my dentist alot but time consuming and scheduling appts. is a problem in that office. Needles to say I went with pain and left with the pain.

Oakwood Dental Arts
I use to go to a dentist around the corner from the Oakwood Dental Arts office off Guyon ave and some of the work I had done was questionable. I have had nothing but problems until Dr Pannone and Then Dr. Ruggeri took over. Since then It has been great even was able to have an extraction and implant placed the same day in the same office. It is nice not having to run from one doctor for the fillings to another doc for the extraction there is something to say about having everyone in one building. Makes everything run smooth. Thank you Oakwood Dental Arts looking forward to my next cleaning.

Oleg, Katcher, MD
I just had a complex – flat large polyp removed by Oleg Katcher. This is an advanced technique and based on my research, not too many doctors perform it successfully and safely. Again, from my research, for complex polyp removal, doctor should have performed already more than 1000 colonoscopies and posses perfect control of endoscope. Oleg Katcher performs both EMR – polyp removal with snaring, and ESD – new resection technique developed in Japan. So, based on my research and personal experience, I would highly recommend Oleg Katcher and his excellent office staff.

Venturina, Valerie, DDS
Fairly new to this practice. Haven't had much luck with previous dentists in my plan. Yesterday had gum surgery with Dr Stevens. He was terrific. He went over everything he was going to do including diagrams. Having had multiple gum procedures in the past with other dentists, I was prepared for a great deal of pain. I had none with Dr Stevens during or after. No bleeding or discomfort. Didn't need so much as a Motrin. The support and desk staff were equally wonderful. They even called this morning to see how I was feeling. Who does that? They do !!!

Richmond Hill Dental
What a great dentist. Very friendly and professional. Most of all, I've never ever had a painful visit. He accommodates emergency appointments (I've had quite a few). His emergency contact will always call you immediately to work out the soonest he can see you. If you're in pain he'll see you right away. Hours work for pretty much any schedule. I have a long road ahead with fixing my teeth and for the first time, I feel confident that it will all get done Amd I'm no longer afraid to go to my appointments!

Mitnick Dental
One of the best dentists I have ever been to. His office staff was very accommodating to get me an appt right away. there is no more then a 10 min wait time whenever I go. He personally gave me a check up call the day after I had some pretty heavy dental work done. I have recommended him to many people. He is GREAT with patient like myself who are scared of the dentist. And the best part, he has 2 locations one in Staten island and the other in Brooklyn...
Tips & Advices
  • If a tooth decays and the nerves or pulp (soft internal tissue which helps teeth develop) become inflamed or infected
  • If a tooth is cracked or broken and nerves are exposed
This generally depends on any specific issues you wish to address with your teeth. There are toothpastes designed to whiten teeth, fight cavities, decrease sensitivity, prevent bad breath, resist gingivitis, and those specific to children (with lower fluoride content). There are also toothpastes that offer “complete” protection by combining aspects of many of the above toothpastes.
It’s recommended to get a professional cleaning at least two times per year.
  • Desensitizing toothpaste numbs the nerves in the teeth that can cause discomfort.
  • Mouth guard can protect against grinding teeth during sleep.
  • Fluoride treatment can be applied by dentists to sensitive areas to numb teeth and strengthen enamel.
  • Root canal can treat problems in a tooth’s core.
  • Surgical gum graft where a piece of gum tissue is removed from a section of the mouth to cover an exposed root.
Not everyone needs to have their wisdom teeth removed, but there are certain signs that can help you and your doctor determine if yours should be:
  • Wisdom teeth are pushing other teeth around, causing pain and misalignment
  • Cysts form around newly emerged wisdom teeth, causing jaw damage
  • Gums get inflamed and swollen, causing cavities and pain
  • Doctor determine from x-rays that wisdom teeth will cause problems in the near future

Just a moment...
