The charges for the Anesthesia and the CRNA re OUTRAGES!!!!!!!!!! $910.00 for a 2 minute visit and $$840.00 for a 10 minute procedure is not acceptable. I will be reporting Broad Midwest Anesthesia group to the St. Louis Medical Society.

St. Anthony's Medical Center
This is hardly a Christian hospital. They charge the uninsured and Christians in a health ministry nearly double what is charged the insured. Avoid this hospital and their unholy pricing schemes.

Missouri Foot and Ankle
Multiple sports injuries from high school, specifically to my left ankle and foot, I was starting to have what I thought was arthritis pain. Turned out I had the beginnings of plantar fasciitis. A regimen of stretching & Advil + arch supports in my heels & I am good as new :)

Be warned if using South County Surgical. My wife and myself had our colonoscopies there and before we did, we called to make sure they were in our insurance network and we were told yes, there would be no charges. HOWEVER they failed to tell us that the anesthesiologist was not in the network ( United Health ) so we are on the hook for $1800 . Had we known this, we would not have used them. I believe they did not tell us about the anesthesiologist , because they knew we might not use them. There is no way they could not have known he was not a network provider.

Everyone was kind. Surgery went as expected per surgeon. I was in the car going home in about 30 following surgery with unclear vision. They didn't even offer water to drink postop. Never offered to stop at the bathroom on the way out. Anesthesiologist was arrogant and did not respect my requests regarding anesthesia preferences. Waiting room was very cold.

Please use any other surgical center in St. Louis. They lie to you about what happens while you are under the anathesia. I spent 11 days in the hospital due to thier neglect. Do not go here.
Tips & Advices
This depends on the center. Some may allow brief visits by family members. Patients should ask about visiting rules before inviting people to stop by.
No. Patients should arrange for someone to drive them home and stay with them for 24 hours following the procedure.
This depends on the procedure. Most centers ask that patients arrive one to two  hours before the procedure begins. Following the procedure, the patient will stay at the center until fully recovered from being sedated. This may take between one and three  hours. After that, if the patient isn't experiencing abnormal pain, he or she may leave.
Different states have different rules regarding requirements for surgery centers. However, ASCs are required to be certified as a Medicare and/or Medicaid Ambulatory Surgery Center supplier before they enter into an agreement with the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services.
The most common types of procedures conducted at surgery centers are:
  • Gastrointestinal
  • Ophthalmology
  • Orthopedics
  • Pain management
Some of the most common procedures include:
  • Cataract surgery
  • Colonoscopy
  • Pain injections
