Don't leet the name fool you. It may not be the most authentic in the world but it is called gringos. Great staff, great food, and outstanding prices. They play regular music most can understand (modern rock). Does t get too busy until around 1230 on Sundays so it's a great place to go after church.

A group of 12 people attended the special "Año Nuevo" celebration last night and the experience could not have been worst. We were given a small table for 8 people, all of a sudden enlarged to accommodate 12 diners, and right next to a door to the terrace that was continuously open and closed creating a cold draft that added to the general discontent of the group. The food was bland to say the least, most of the times cold, and it took a real struggle to catch the attention of the servers to be able to get little bits every time, a very unpleasant experience; if we were challenged to rate what was worse, the service or the food; the servers take all the palms; the most horrendous service that we have had in a long time; however, when it came to settle the bill which was well over one thousand Dollars, they granted themselves a generous 15% gratuity on top of the excessive prices already charged for a meal that was not even enough to fill us. Finally we were cut free without having to pay the ransom for the horrible service. Overpriced, bland and scarce food, horrendous service what can be worse to start the new year......

I have been going to Carlos Mexican Restaurant for a couple years now, mainly for their breakfast buffet. It?s only 8 bucks and includes made to order omelets, pancakes and all the Mexican favorites like menudo. The wait staff is very friendly and the service is prompt. They have made a life long customer out of me.\r \r On a side note ? they are moving to a new building right next door and changing their name to Tequila Patio. Seems like a good thing is going to get even better.\r

Their breakfast platers are delicious, fresh, and affordable. I recommend barbacoa plate which has eggs, beans, potatoes, and barbacoa. Great large pancakes. My hubby loves the pozole soup. The cook and his wife r the owners. Say hello for me.

My family and I eat here about 1 or 2 times a month, since it is near our home. They completely refurbished this restaurant last year. It is comfortably casual and has a nice "Rustic Texas" sort of atmosphere, with brand new dark wood grain booths and wrought iron Lone Stars of all sizes decorating the walls. We ate here when they first reopened and had a bad experience after ordering our entrees with an hour and 20-minute wait to receive our food. So we waited about 2 months before trying them again and it was very good. The food is moderately priced. It's not the cheapest in our area, but well priced for this type of neighborhood family oriented place. It is apparent with the attention to service now, that they are making a concerted effort to gain your repeat business. The food has been for the most part good, every time we have been there since that first visit. The chips and have been fresh and the salsa tasty with cilantro as an ingredient, like good salsa should have. (I'm prejudiced, because I love cilantro!) We took my parents to eat while they were visiting one night and ordered the table side Guacamole. Honestly it’s not the best I have ever had (too much lime, so you might want to ask for “just a little lime juice please”), but the waitress was so friendly and engaging and making jokes with my parents, my husband and I, that it made the night quite a fun experience. Both of my parents remarked about how fun it was and I was grateful that she went that extra mile. We will continue to eat there and bring various friends and family members with us to enjoy the food, atmosphere and have an overall pleasant and relaxed time. FYI: This a non-smoking restaurant even in the bar area.
