Bio-Tech Pest Control
Big disappointment. I called after reading good reviews...which I am now beginning to suspect may not be legit. $350 to remove rodents (squirrels, rats) from the attic and guarantee to keep them out for one year. First visit 1/2013. Now Bio-Tech has been out at least five times, but we still hear rats (or something) scratching in the attic in the middle of the night. Bio-Tech blocked the access points they could find with sheet metal. The rodents chewed through that in about two days. Next, steel mesh, which is still holding up, but we still hear running in the attic. They put traps, caught two rats but no squirrels. Baited a live trap that I already had. No luck. They put a camera in the attic to try and see, but since the tech retrieved the camera, I've not heard from them, and that was over a month ago.Bottom line: They seem to be trying, but I spent $350 to get rid of the squirrels and rats, and that hasn't happened. As of now, I'm almost halfway through the "guarantee" period, but the problem hasn't been solved. When I next call, I need to ask when the guarantee starts--on the first trip, or when they actually get rid of the rodents!

Tips & Advices
Fumigation is dangerous to pets and humans. Liquid termicides, however, are safe to use around pets.
No. Because termite infestations are considered preventable, most home insurance policies do not cover treatments or damage.
It's best to treat an entire home to ensure the termite infestation is completely eliminated. Spot treating costs less, but increases the likelihood of missed colonies. In addition, spot treatments can make a home unattractive to future buyers.
The cost to eliminate termites varies depending on the method. Bait costs between $150-$300, while fumigation costs $1,300-$2,500. Heat treatment costs around $1 per square foot, so a 2,500 square-foot home would cost $2,500.
The length of time depends on the process used:
  • Fumigation takes approximately five days. The termites die quickly, but homeowners must remain out of the house until the chemicals clear.
  • Bait exterminations can take months to destroy an entire colony. The bait kills termites during the molting process. If an insect eats the bait and does not molt, it is unaffected.
  • Heat extermination takes approximately eight hours and is environmentally friendly. This process heats the home to 150 degrees F.
