Rooms here were overall very nice. This hotel is in a great spot. It's a very nice hotel to stay at and worth checking out. Pricewise, I'd say the rates are very reasonable.

My family has stayed in some really nice hotels around the U.S. We usually enjoy staying in 4 or 5 star hotels. One of our stays was at the Waldorf Astoria in Manhatten. This hotel, the Davenport Tower, is comparable to the Waldorf as far as service. Actually, the Davenport's is better. The average age of the workers we could see at the Davenport was 22 years old; yet, they behaved more professionally and sincerely than people much older in some of these 4 star hotels or even 5 stars. The workers at the Waldorf had a certain ""air"" to them, which is totallly unnecessary in order to give great service, as proven at the Davenport. The Davenport was recently rennovated and its decor and very contemporary amenities were to die for! I'd come back in a heartbeat to this place. In fact, we are planning a golf trip to Spokane next year!

I totally dig Hotel Ruby! I am relocating from Seattle to Spokane with Tradre Joe's and have had the pleasure to stay at Hotel Ruby for fourteen days. The staff is fantastic, my dogs are welcome and everyone here has made my transition extremely comfortable and nice. Thank you Hotel Ruby for your exceptional hospitality. FIVE start all the way! I DIG Hotel Ruby!!

We were awoken at 1:30 am by the guest in the next room attempting to get through the adjoining door into our room. We have no idea if this other guest was drunk, disoriented in the dark, or dangerous. He was loud and definitely trying to open the door. I yelled at him to quit and he did, so I am guessing intoxicated, but who knows. I alerted the front desk who promised to send a bellman down. We heard the phone ring next door, but that is all. No one ever came down to that room or ours. While I realize that the hotel can't control the other guests behavior, the hotel should control it's response to our complaint. Minimally I would have expected someone to visit that room to see what is going on. Then there should have been feedback to us and probably an offer of a move to a new room. But that's not all. At 3:45 am the power went out. Again, I understand that this is beyond the control of the hotel. Again the hotel failed in it's responsibilities. We awoke to no power, no telephone and no information. Upon finally arriving at the front desk (in the dark) we were informed by the night manager that ""we only have six light sticks in the hotel"". Unbelievable. I don't pretend to know what industry standard is for response to something like this, but I would guess this is outside of it. It seems to me that guests should have been alerted. Should have been offered flashlights, light sticks or something. Perhaps available staff in the halls? Regardless this response was inadequate and poorly planned. The hotel either had no plan for such an event, or didn't execute the plan. Either way, we woke up in the dark, cold with no phone and even less information. We realize that these events were beyond the hotel's control, but the response on the part of staff was woefully inadequate and the hotel is responsible for that. We will always remember this as ""fright night"".

This is no chain motel! An Historic Register Property, Montvale is elegantly appointed and conveniently located walking distance to downtown theatres, shops, and restaurants (Fox Theatre is across the street). It offers several parking options including secure valet parking. The history of the property is interesting reading available in a splendid second floor lobby. Specials deals make rates competitive with other downtown upscale expensive hotels. Staff is professional, knowledgeable, and courteous. You won't be disappointed, this is one of Spokane's best kept secrets.
