I'm not even going into my whole stituation but I've been dealing with it for almost 12 years, yea my son is 16. Ben & his staff are incredible on several different levels. I'm impressed because we were able to get resolution instead of trial but if we did need trial, he was so on point & ready to go. Ben is very knowledgeable & I appreciate the research and extra mile his staff goes. He is the first attorney to actually listen to me & have a logical augment for a modification of my parenting plan. I respect that he is very matter of fact & very honest with me about my case. I went into his office a mess and distraught two days before my court date with these crazy papers a fake paralegal had "helped" me with. Ben & his paralegal Jason fixed everything and made me feel like everything would be ok and it was. I knew I wasn't Bens only case, its a long process going through the courts, and ultimately it would be up to a judge if we went to trial. For the first time in my life I'm so happy I had Benjamin Platt for my attorney instead of one of my exes attorneys. I know its so stressful when your kids are involved and you're emotionally invested that's why I'm so thankful to Ben & his staff for being on my team. Benjamin Platt Law Office deserves many praises!

While searching for an attorney to help me through a divorce, Mr Dudley's name came up through a co-worker. I reviewed several of the attorney rating sites and found varying reviews. I found that most, if not all of the negative reviews were from opposing parties. This only served to strengthen my opinion that Mr. Dudley was infact the person I wanted to represent me. I can say now that everything is finalized that I made the correct choice. Mr. Dudley is meticulous and his deductive and inductive reasoning skills are peak! I have already recommended him to others. His rates are very reasonable and the time and care he puts into your case will give ensure you are getting the highest quality representation!

Mr Platt couldn't actually take my case, but he did offer me a lot of jumping off info, (for which I'm eternally grateful!). If finances were different, we would definitely ask him to represent us.

Tips & Advices
Each state has different mandates on how child support is determined. But there are some basic factors that underline how costs are determined in each state, including:
  • Income level of parent that needs to pay support (in the case of joint custody, the costs are determined by income of each party and the percentage of time the child spends with each parent)
  • Financial needs of child
  • Child’s standard of living before the divorce occurred
This is a divorce in which one party does not have to prove that the other’s actions lead to a deterioration of the marriage. The reason for divorce is listed as "irreconcilable differences" or an "irreparable breakdown of the marriage,” meaning the marriage was no longer working and could not be repaired.
Family law attorneys are helpful in cases where the two parties are not on amicable terms. The lawyers can act as intermediaries between the two parties and help them come to any settlement agreements, however long that may take. Lawyers can also help parties navigate tricky state laws regarding settlement agreements and child custody, thus expediting the process.
A contested divorce is one in which the parties cannot agree on either the necessity of the divorce as a whole, or how assets (money, property, etc.) and child custody should be split between them in the divorce. An uncontested divorce is when the parties are in agreement on how assets and child custody will be split between them. These divorces can sometimes be handled without hiring a lawyer.
It is possible for a couple to get a divorce without hiring a family law attorney. If the two parties are in agreement on how finances, child custody, properties, etc., will be split, then they can file the necessary court documents themselves and avoid the services of a lawyer.
