The Car Center
I originally went there to buy a 2004 volvo, I got there and test drove it. It had major computer problems! It scared me because the whole car was run by computer so I told Richard I wasn't interested in it. I asked him if he had anything on the lot that was good in the snow with heated seats because where I live has lots of snow and I need a reliable vehicle. He suggested I buy the 2004 Nissan Murano. I took it for a test drive and after some thought went back to buy it. Richard assured me that even though it had 205000 miles it still had a lot of life in it. So I bought it. I drove it home which was about 180 miles from Spokane and to work than to Wenatchee to go Christmas shopping. Luckily I had my nephew with me because we were on our way back home the car started to over heat .I pulled over immediately and turned off the car it started steaming a lot! After that it was a huge headache! We had to sleep in my car full of Christmas presents knowing now I'm broke and can't afford a hotel. Plus I was afraid to leave my car because of what was in it. So we spent the long night in the cold car! We got towed ( thank god for good insurance!) To a reputable auto shop where my car sits to this day. At first they thought it was the radiator than it continued to over heat so they replaced the thermostat, than it continued to over heat still. So they called me to tell me the head gaskets need to be replaced and that will cost about $3000!!! Are you kidding me I have only had the car 3 days! I have called and spoken with Richard and hand only gotten a hold of him once he basically told me I'm outta luck. I have tried many times to reach him since and he is never available. Seriously people please take my story to heart these men at car center are only out to make a buck off people expecting a reputable company.THEY ARE NOT! PLEASE BE WARE! Now I have to replace the entire engine which will be $1500 for the engine and another $1500 for the labor plus the $600 for the radiator they ago ready installed. They sell broken pretty vehicles!

Northtown Auto Liquidators
I just wanted to take a moment and say what a great experience I have had dealing with Northtown Auto Liquidators. They truly do pride themselves in their customer experience. They have went above and beyond my expectations for a used car lot. I recently bought an Acura MDX from them in what we thought was great condition for a 2002. A few months after being bought however, the transmission started slipping. Although it was not their responsibility, I contacted them to let them know. They immediately took told me to come in and talk to them and have their mechanic take a look at my vehicle. They didnt need to do this as there was not warranty on my MDX. They found that the transmission needed to be replaced and found a great priced rebuilt transmission for me. Then, going yet again beyond their call of duty, had their mechanic install it for me. This saved me hundreds of dollars and they did this all out of the goodness of their hearts and their desire to ensure a satisfied customer. Owner, Randy, was more than a pleasure to work with and very sincere in dealing with the situation I was in. I am grateful for their help and support they provided. No other dealership in Spokane would have cared so much or went out of their way to make sure I was taken care of. I would recommend Northtown Auto Liquidators to anyone searching for a car dealership established on honesty and integrity. Thank you for everything!

Mechanic's Pride Tire & Automotive Inc.
We have been customers of Mechanics Pride for a few years, with two different cars. Recently we had an oil change on our newer car right before moving to Oregon. Unfortunately, a new mechanic had replaced the oil filter with the wrong one. After a week or so of unknowingly driving with rapidly draining oil, the engine seized up. We were told by a local mechanic that we needed a new engine, but to contact Mechanics Pride to ask about the oil filter, because it was just barely hanging on by a thread. After Mike looked into it, he discovered the error, acknowledged the mistake, and took every step necessary to get us a new engine and a rental car while we waited for the repairs. We were blown away by the honesty and responsibility shown by Mechanics Pride. While it was unfortunate that this had happened, my wife and I are still highly satisfied by their work. All other repairs and maintenance they have performed have been exemplary. I would recommend them to anyone needing repairs and maintenance in Spokane.

Flash's Auto Body & Paint
I was recently was t-boned in a car accident and had to replace my car door with an old used one from Spalding. The door I found was the wrong color so I needed to find a place to have it painted. I’m sooooo happy I took it to Ryan at Flash’s Auto. The color match turned out absolutely gorgeous! The paintjob was flawless! Incredibly, my door looks brand new again; you would never be able to tell that it wasn’t my original car door. I am so impressed with their hard work and their awesome customer service! I had to write a review, because I know there are people out there looking and not sure where to go. I highly recommend Flash’s Auto to anyone in need. These guys are honest, fair, do amazing work and their prices are so reasonable. As soon as I talked to Ryan it was a done deal. I am so happy with the outcome and very thankful I put my trust in these guys. This is a great place, take your business here, you will not be disappointed! I’m a very happy customer:)

Andy's Auto Repair
Wow - Andy's our hero! Our car broke down driving from Seattle to Spokane on our way to my mom's memorial service late on Friday afternoon. AAA called Andy's after a few others who were closing for the weekend, and he said he "might" be able to get to it Saturday after 3 other jobs in front of ours. We got the car towed there late Friday, and took him the keys Sat. AM. Saturday mid-afternoon I got a call from Andy that not only did he determine it was definitely the fuel pump, but he was pretty sure he could fix it that day. I'm sure partly due to my circumstances and some compassion on his part, he stayed over 2 hours past closing to make sure our car was fixed!! We've now arrived back home with no problems, and have a hard working, honest & reliable mechanic to refer our friends & acquaintances to in the future.

Rob's Automotive Repair
Rob and his guys are skilled mechanics! I've been taking my family's vehicles ('09 Escalade, '08 Malibu, '05 STS, '95 F250) to him since I stumbled upon his shop when I moved to town in 2012.The biggest reason I go back to Rob for every repair I can't do on my own is his honesty and integrity! If other shops have said that something's going to leave you stranded if you don't pay $$$$ today, Rob will be a breath of fresh air. He will tell you how long something will last and what your risks of delaying repair will be - and won't lie! AMAZING!I've never had a problem with the work he's done and the costs are BETTER than reasonable! If you're really needing to save money on a repair, talk to him first and see what options you have! This is the only shop that I won't hesitate to send friends and family to.

Crosspointe Autoplex
We had a great experience with the salesman that helped us. He wasn't pushy at all and he was a very nice guy. The only thing about the whole experience that really upset me was the fact that the car was really dirty. A manager had been driving it around and the outside was covered in dirt and the inside had crumbs. We bought it on a Saturday and their detailing crew doesn't work on Saturdays. So they pressure washed the outside and handed us the keys. I expect that when I buy a car and pay over $15,000 for it for the car to be spotless inside and out. We ended up taking it somewhere and having it detailed for $200. If they would have offered to pay for it to be detailed or even offered for us to bring it back Monday that would have been really nice. Nice people though.

Valley Auto Maxx
I selected this company to purchase my moms car since last year my mom got burned by other dealer. This time i did the homework on the company ( checked reviews, DOT and everything ) and Valley Auto Maxx was one of the few companies that actually owns their own trucks and have leased operators to them. For me, i felt more confortable even talking to them than others. didn't push me to book job and they didn't spam me with all type go junks. They sent me only one email and thats it! The car purchased fom them was safe delivered and I am very happy with it.I will recommend them and i will use them to buy cars and have them shipped to my parents, friends and family! Great Job David!Stephen Alsop - Denver, CO

Arrow Auto Repair
I was extremely satisfied by them being upfront and honest, and by working in a very timely manner. I took my Dodge Dakota Sport here because it was having idling problems that I suspected were caused by sensors. It was throwing 2 different codes and Arrow Auto Repair was able to determine which one was the source and after replacing the crankshaft sensor cleared both problems. They also showed me other problems that I would eventually need to address but weren't pushy about fixing it, which is what I have experienced from my dealerships and auto repair shops. I will definitely come back here if I need anymore work on my pickup.

Valley Auto Maxx
Took a while but I finally found an honest dealership! dealt with a salesperson named David from start to finish. No shady finance manager or finance office. They didn't pressure me so after visiting a few other dealerships I decided to call them back to talk to David. they were far away from me so I complete the purchase online as they offered me free shipping to my place and a 30 days buyback guarantee so I felt safe. I wired the money in full to them and they got me to my BMW. I highly recommend this dealership!Leonard - Atlanta, GA
Tips & Advices
Among the common scams pulled are needless repairs, where a garage charges you for work that isn't necessary. Another popular one is attracting customers through a cheap oil change or tire pressure check. Then, when you your car is being repaired, they give you a long list of other corrections they'd like to make, therefore boosting the total cost of your bill. The best way to combat these types of problems is getting a written estimate before work is done so you can see how much repairs are expected to cost. If the final bill is higher than the estimate projected, ask to specifically see the work. Make sure information is put in writing as well. If a problem remains, you can have proof that work was not done to your satisfaction.
For winter driving, features such as the defroster, heater and exhaust system are paramount. Look in your owner's manual for specific directions on how features should be checked and repaired. Many newer cars have a cabin air filter that can be replaced when needed, allowing warm air to continue to flow in. Also, check tires before winter driving, as they need to be at the proper pressure to perform well on snow and ice.
In the spring and summer, you want to be sure your air conditioner and cooling systems work correctly. Given the high temperatures, overheating is a common problem. Look over the system by ensuring there is enough coolant available. If it needs to be refilled, it is best to open the hood and add more to the car before it gets too warm out. Also, clean out fan ducts and other ventilation sources necessary for summertime driving.
Some fixes to your car can be done without paying a specialist. Issues like replacing oil and air filters are relatively simple, with instructions provided in the owner's manual on how to make these changes. The same goes for replacing broken windshield wipers or burnt-out headlights. Such issues should be repaired quickly to guarantee safety, but don't require a visit to a garage.
Yes. Not every type of auto repair work needs to be done by a certified mechanic. You can fix some of a vehicle's issues just by paying attention to how the automobile is running and having a basic understanding of auto repair. Look over the ways weather may impact your car and what preventative measures you can take to avoid having to take it into the shop.
