Carrington College
I went through the Dental Assisting Program out of Spokane, WA. It is a very fast-paced course, that gives you a lot of information in a short time. I specifically chose to go this way, rather than go through the community college in my area that had a 2 year wait for the program, and only offered a 2 year Associates Degree in the field. While the classes were fast paced, the instructors were amazing and very willing to help however they could. You complete a 180-hour extern at the end of your courses before you graduate, to give you on-the-job experience. I was offered a job at my extern site, and have been happily employed ever since. The only thing I disliked about Carrington is they are not DANB accredited, so I have to work for 2 years before I can take the national board exams to become registered, rather than just certified. In other schools around the area, you are able to take the DANB exams as soon as you graduate. Carrington did not inform me of this fact before I enrolled there, and it was not until closer to my graduation date, when I asked about the board exams, was I informed about that.

Carrington College
2011-2012 I went to carrington Colleges Dental assisting program. I loved it. Loved my teacher. She was so patient and a great teacher. Carrington college is a awesome school plus it is only a 9 month program. They really care about you and make an effort to make you happy. You get what you put into it. If you dont try and slack off then have a bad time at your extern site. its because of you. not them. I got a job about a month after school. You just have to apply yourself. Being a dental assistant you cant be prepared for everything. its more of a hands on learning. so once your on extern and or get a job you learn alot more. not that carrington didnt teach you but you simply cant know everything by going to school. Loved the school. Would go back. Thank you carrington in Spokane washington!
