Great Western Tire Inc.
To add a little "balance" (pun intended) to the reviews for Great Western Tire in Spearfish, I was just on a road trip back to Chicago after buying a rickety '89 Comanche in Portland, OR. I realized in Gillette, WY that I was going to need a pair of new tires but finding a pair of 225/75-15s in the land of full-size pickups was going to be a challenge. A quick Google search helped me locate Great Western Tire, I didn't even look at reviews because I was losing valuable time and just needed to get the job done. I called, got a quote and plugged the address into my GPS. When I arrived I was greeted, handed over my keys and played a real-life game of frogger running across the street to DQ for lunch. When I finished, I returned. They had been held up a little because we didn't discuss if I wanted the white letters in or out. While I was waiting, I lost a quarter in the Coke machine and an employee gave me a quarter out of his own pocket. The car was finished in about 10 more minutes. I paid the exact amount I was quoted over the phone and was back on the road. What more could I ask for?

Auto Doctor
I have been doing business with the Auto Doctor since I moved to the area in 2009. Dale and Karen Frazier (owners) have repaired every problem I have had with my Vehicles since we met,, my wife and I trust them completely. They have saved us money around every corner and the service there is exceptional. Dale has proved his honesty over and over there is no other place I would take my problems to. Going there is like visiting friends because that is how we are treated. I Highly Recommend the Auto Doctor in Spearfish SD.

Auto Doctor
It's not lucky to break down on vacation, but you are very lucky if you find Dale at Auto Doctor! On the day before the 4th of July, our 2013 Jaguar XKR overheated. We made it to Auto Doctor. Dale found the problem (water Pump) right away and honored the warranty. He treated us great and did a wonderful job. He was very reasonably priced even though we did not have any other options. Dale is an ex marine used to working on Jets so our Jaguar was easy for him.

Prestige Auto Sales
So friendly and answered all my questions, even offered more information about details of the vehicle. I am so grateful. I would have needed their input later. They are so patient and didn't seem to mind my lack of knowing anything about cars, anything about loans, car payments, percentages, etc etc. I really love these guys. Will come back - will send people here in a heartbeat.

Auto Body Rebuilders
We've have the bodies of our combined three cars each fixed once here and we have no complaints. Great work is done here and I would say that they go above and beyond. When I got my vehicle back it was washed and the interior was completely clean! I felt like I got a total bonus since it's something I've been meaning to do for months. I highly recommend this business!

Prestige Auto Sales
I was helped out by everyone at the dealership and they knew everything I shot at them about the vehicles I liked. I narrowed it down to the final choice and they did give me the best deal that I ran across while shopping for a new ride. I would definitely refer them to anyone looking for a good vehicle. Thank you all at Prestige Auto for getting me into my new ride!

Exhaust Pros of Spearfish
The muffler on my Camaro came loose while my wife was in Belle Fourche. She took the car to Loren at Exhaust pros and he repaired the damage and let us know the muffler had a lifetime warranty if we took it back to the people who had installed it.A++++ for honesty. He could have put a new muffler on and we would have never known the difference.

Prestige Auto Sales
Justin was very helpful, wanted to make a sale but wasn't overly pushy. Willing to work with us and give us the time we needed to make a decision. Would recommend Prestige Auto to others. Luke was very informative and helpful with the financing portion too.
Tips & Advices
Among the common scams pulled are needless repairs, where a garage charges you for work that isn't necessary. Another popular one is attracting customers through a cheap oil change or tire pressure check. Then, when you your car is being repaired, they give you a long list of other corrections they'd like to make, therefore boosting the total cost of your bill. The best way to combat these types of problems is getting a written estimate before work is done so you can see how much repairs are expected to cost. If the final bill is higher than the estimate projected, ask to specifically see the work. Make sure information is put in writing as well. If a problem remains, you can have proof that work was not done to your satisfaction.
For winter driving, features such as the defroster, heater and exhaust system are paramount. Look in your owner's manual for specific directions on how features should be checked and repaired. Many newer cars have a cabin air filter that can be replaced when needed, allowing warm air to continue to flow in. Also, check tires before winter driving, as they need to be at the proper pressure to perform well on snow and ice.
In the spring and summer, you want to be sure your air conditioner and cooling systems work correctly. Given the high temperatures, overheating is a common problem. Look over the system by ensuring there is enough coolant available. If it needs to be refilled, it is best to open the hood and add more to the car before it gets too warm out. Also, clean out fan ducts and other ventilation sources necessary for summertime driving.
Some fixes to your car can be done without paying a specialist. Issues like replacing oil and air filters are relatively simple, with instructions provided in the owner's manual on how to make these changes. The same goes for replacing broken windshield wipers or burnt-out headlights. Such issues should be repaired quickly to guarantee safety, but don't require a visit to a garage.
Yes. Not every type of auto repair work needs to be done by a certified mechanic. You can fix some of a vehicle's issues just by paying attention to how the automobile is running and having a basic understanding of auto repair. Look over the ways weather may impact your car and what preventative measures you can take to avoid having to take it into the shop.
