I've read the reviews and I guess everyone's experience is different. Mine experience was great. This is a teaching hospital so don't go if you don't like seeing interns. I was told the interns are not allowed to change your medications without going through the doctor or PA first (who is amazing and really really smart, I thought she was the doctor). Also, I was told that if I ever was in crisis or needed a counseling session with Dr. Anderson, it would not be a problem. They do have an in house pharmacy but I was not forced to use them, the PA gave me a choice and I'm actually glad I chose them, they mail my refills. I have been going here 6 months now and yes there is a wait sometimes, but what doctor's office do you go to now and not wait? That reflects the shortage of health care! Lastly, unlike other psychiatrist offices I've called, they got my appointment in within a month vs. 6 months waiting list at the others. And the PA and doctor both make you feel comfortable and at ease.

After reading these reviews I laughed and knew I had to leave a review for Dr. Anderson and his staff. I have been going to a psychiatrist for years and always wait for hours. So when I switched here it wasnt a big deal. Sometimes there are crisis..after all it is a psychiatric clinic. The ladies in the office have never been anything but helpful to me and my daughter. Its a great local clinic to go to in my opinion and I love Dr. Anderson and his down to earth attitude. He's easy to talk to and calls me on my bs!!! Which is why I like him and his staff. I love the in house pharmacy. They make sure I get my scripts every month with no hassle.Im guessing that if you had a bad experience at this clinic other than the wait time it was of your own making....

Taylor LeeI have no idea what all these people are talking about this being a bad place!! They have been nothing but good to me, the pharmacy ladies are so sweet the front desk ladies are sweet and the manager is sweet and actually listens to what you have to say. Dr Anderson is a very cool guy and he actually helps me when I need help, people just need to realize that you don't just go in there to get meds and leave, if you only knew what they go through you would realize why they are the way they are! Anyways great place great people you just have to

My child has Autism and I was recommended to take her to DFCC for Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, and Speech and Language Pathology. I must say the staff there was great. Everyone was friendly and my daughter really had a great experience. We have been there for 2 visits so far but I believe this is the best choice I have ever made for my child. Since starting therapy she has really been improving. I would HIGHLY recommend DFCC for anyone that has a child that needs assistance.

Tips & Advices
Group counseling is when one or more counselors lead a group discussion, usually between five and 15 people. The group may focus on a shared experience or situation, and provide support and encouragement to the other attendees.
Each state defines its own requirements for what licenses and education are needed to be a counselor. It's common for counselors to have a bachelor's degree in psychology or a similar field, as well as a master's degree. After that, counselors should obtain their state license, and can move on to achieving other licenses like the:
  • National Certified Counselor (NCC) license
  • Certified Clinical Mental Health Counselor (CCMHC) license
  • Master Addictions Counselor (MAC) license
  • Forensic Health Evaluators (FHE) license
  • Global Career Development Facilitator (GCDF) license
  • Certified Family Therapist (CFT) license
This all depends on the patient's goals and circumstances. Some people are happy with their results after just a few sessions; others continue to meet with their counselors for years. There is no right or wrong length of time to go to counseling.
Anyone can benefit from counseling services. Counseling can help you gain greater insight into yourself; deal with feelings of sadness, worry, depression or anxiety; as well as work out relationship problems, trauma or addiction. Not every type of counseling service works with every person.
Yes. Except in very specific situations, a counselor will never repeat conversations from a counseling session. Situations where information from sessions might be shared include:
  • If the counselor believes the patient might harm him or herself, or someone else.
  • If the counselor wants to get a second opinion on the patient's treatment. If this is the case, the counselor should seek the patient's written permission before consulting another professional.
